Rotpar: So don't buy it and just wait. Usually though when they do stuff like this it is to get funding for further game dev in the first place.
Who watches the watchmen? That's my plan. Spy on you guys and hope for the best. It looks promising.
"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984Well, the longer you wait the less old school it will get as Wollay has quite a few standard RPG features on his roadmap .
I'm cool with that.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Right now the game is very bare so there's nothing to do but grind the fuck out of everything (levels, items, etc).
My biggest complaint is how the price to power up items via platinum coins is broken. It gets more expensive to do so when the item is at a higher power level, but the scaling for it is totally borked. To power up a LV 70+ weapon, it costs me over 30,000 platinum coins to do so. Bosses only drop 50-300 coins and they only spawn in dungeons or on marked areas of the map.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. My first impression is not very good. They really need to tweak the difficulty, at least for the beginning. It's nearly impossible and incredibly tedious. Any enemy kills you in a very short time, you pretty much have to look for one, which is "weak" enough that you are able to kill it and not accompanied by any other enemy. Even then, you'll probably have to use heal potions and you get barely any experience points.
I have the feeling that this game is designed for multiplayer only and the singleplayer mode was just tacked on as an after-thought.
People aren't as awful as the internet makes them out to be.Early Game Hell rears its ugly head here. After a while, you will level up so easily that it's almost effortless. The difficulty curve becomes a straight line after a while, though there will be some dungeons that are marked in red.

Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.Actually, the singleplayer mode is the main focus. The design goal of the alpha is to have the basic art style and mechanics set first with quests and story coming later.
Ok so I found out what the one big problem is for me. I found out that Cube World does not play nice with intel graphics cards which is what is on my machine. That is one of the next big tasks is support for intel graphics cards.
Who watches the watchmen?Should a 1GB Nvidia card cut it?
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Optimization is pretty poor in this version.
@Ninety
It depends on what kind of Nvidia card it is. Video RAM is hardly an issue with most current cards, but the rest of the specs determine everything.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.I just bought this gaaaame. It looks good so far. I've yet to see building, is that in yet?
The most edgy person on the Internet. Not currently but down the road.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.Right now the Intel Cards are having a lot of issues. This is why my 1.6 gig card doesn't play nice. Some of the intel laptops are hard hit.
The game is also hard on GPU's. The is very much an alpha build.
So building and other future features are still incoming. Sorry forgot to finish my post there.

Who watches the watchmen? There also needs to be optimizations. My video card sounds like a jet plane every time I play multiplayer.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. Is there a way for me to store goodies, then?
Me and my bros started playing... For hours... And got a ton done. This game is awesome!
The most edgy person on the Internet. There is no storage system currently, but since you lose nothing upon death and your pockets seem to be unlimited (some items have a limit to how many copies you can carry in one slot)....
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.Bumping up from the grave. Anyone else have a feeling this game might be dead? The developer hadn't given any word at all on the next update and it's been a few months already.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.Game is going live in a month or so on Steam.
Took 6 years, but it'll be out before Half-Life 3 at least.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.i like how you were the last person to post here six years ago
"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaI know, it's very surreal. I sort of gave up on the game and forgot I was subbed to it on Reddit. Then I saw on this very site that the Cube World page got updated with a release date and I was like "Bullshit! Time to investigate!"
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.Update time!
- Game is having a closed beta on the 23rd and an official launch on the 30th, both on Steam.
- If you own the alpha version of the game, you can go to the Picroma web site, log into your account, and get your Steam key under "My Games".
- Game price to be around the same as it was in alpha ($15-$20).
- Controllers supported.
- The old launcher will no longer be used due to the game receiving a total overhaul in its coding. This also means old save files won't work on the Steam version.
- No modding support.
- You can find more info HERE.
I gotten my Steam key and added the game to my library right away. You can "play" it, but all you can do is adjust the options and listen to the tile screen music, which sounds really nice.
Also saw a blogpost from the creator himself on why he was silent for so long. The game store suffered a DDoS attack when the alpha launched and he was dealing with depression and anxiety ever since. He also considered posting updates to the game before, but felt it wasn't good enough and had redone several things from scratch many times since he's a perfectionist. His previous blog post before the current one was from when the alpha launched. Yikes, poor guy has been off his blog since then, though he did the rare Twitter updates.
