Working on an indie game? Need music? Can work for free/cheap!

So, let's face it, my family's financial situation is pretty dire and there's no sign of anything immediately awesome on the horizon. My parents have so far lost their fairly well-paying jobs and finding a reasonable job in Latvia is nigh impossible at this moment.

I'm looking for ways I could earn some money and maybe, just maybe... someone will accept my music in an indie game.

I *can* (and probably will) work for free for experience and portfolio but what I'm truly looking forward is working for cheap. The thing here is the amount of projects I can try to tackle at once. The more I can do, the more money I could potentially get. I mean, if you have the ability to pay at all, surely you could give me a few dollars for a particularly nice music track? And then another one... and another one, too... please?

Here's my music so far: http://is.gd/xAUfE7

There are 24 tracks in total right now.

I know there are composers out there who do this hugely awesome orchestral whatever... but if the game itself does not look technically professional, overly pro-sounding music can sometimes heighten the contrast and HURT the game. So I hope someone on this forum (or on a few others) likes me and my music enough to help me out monetarily.

I wouldn't be asking here, but our situation is getting pretty desperate and me and my family need to do something. So here I am, trying to do something.

Well, this is advertising, but I am sorry to hear that.

Try posting offers on IndieDB.

Incidentally, for the record, I'd have asked for your help if I didn't find someone to do that just 4 days ago.

But yeah, try a site dedicated to stuff like that.

I do try sites dedicated to that — as well as a few sites where I'm a longtime member. I know this is advertising and sorry if this kinda breaks the rules... the situation is quite desperate, though, so... yeah.

I see...

Well, I wish I could help, but as I said, I already have two people doing music for free, and one person was more than enough already.

I don't recall anyone else in this section openly stating that they were working on an indie project (that wasn't just some small gift thing) recently, so I doubt you'll get very many responses here of all places.

No problem. It's not like I'm limiting myself to this one place. I just put the offer in as many places as I possibly can, because I need to do something and this is what I can try to do.
