So I've watched all of HC Bailly's let's play series up to this point, and I've decided I really like the idea of following along while someone plays a video game (especially because they can skip the grinds for me!).

Any other recommendations? I prefer to watch the ones on youtube, since downloading or singing up for some website is a bit of a pain.

I'm going to second Chuggaaconroy, and as an extension, the Runaway Guys. Some of the information about the games that Chuggaa talks about is pretty interesting, and his co-op LPs with ProtonJon and NintendoCapriSun on the Runaway Guys are always good for a laugh.

I also think some of NCS's solo LPs are pretty good, but they're not for everyone.

If you like watching terrible LP's getting torn apart MST 3 K style then I suggest Ret Supurae

Look up Uber Haxor Nova and Sp00n's Dead Rising 2 Let's Play. These guys are members of The Creatures, and are really random and funny. Just to note: the first few episodes are only Nova, just so no one gets confused.

I haven't seen them in a while, but I remember liking Roahm Mythril. If I recall correctly, he mostly does Mega Man games, but he branches out a fair bit, too.

Some good suggestions so far (I'm definitely going to check out Mc Gammer, since he seems to play games that I play), but a lot of the let's play suggestions so far - while probably quite funny and entertaining - seem to focus on genres that I do not play much, like horror. Maybe a better way to ask is with a particular genre in mind, or games that I'd like to see LP'd by a quality let's player (no "camcorders in front of tvs, please!).

One game I'm interested in is a series I've yet to play, the Tales series. I was hoping to jump in on some of the more recent games in the series, but since I haven't played the older games like Syphonia I figure watching an LP would be a good way to get caught up. Any good L Pers out there for the Tales series?

That's a tough one since Let's Plays of RPGs usually only exist in screenshot format. And ones that exist in video form are very terrible.

Chaotic Monki or Cry as he prefers to be called has really good let's plays of Amnesia+custom stories and several other games. His mic is good and his computer is good enough to run Skyrim, so his voice is crystal clear while he plays and the games' FPS almost never drop.

Seconding The Sonic 06 LP by Pokecapn's crew. That thing is a masterpiece and everyone needs to watch it at least once.

I don't know of any Tales LP's, sorry. But an L Per I can recommend in general is Pcull44444, who I discovered recently and ended up falling in this-is-awesome with. He's basically the most ridiculously hammy L Per ever, but it really works for him since he has a great natural flow and his voice is quite pleasant to listen to.

Also, I am a big fan of Donnabellez. Most of the games she's done are things that have been done a lot, but she's amazingly cheerful and happy and is basically a living ray of sunshine.

Probably the best L Pers I've seen are Chip and Ironicus.

They are amazing, but they are not on You Tube. Well, they are, but I think they only do Retsus. (Retsues?)

Once youtube upped the time limit they uploaded everything to a different channel.

https://www.youtube.com/user/ChipCheezumLP?feature=g-user-u

Don't really know why they didn't just upload to the retsu account but whatever. They also uploaded the uncut stuff which is great because they mostly do MGS games which are boring as sin to watch without some sort of constant commentary over it. Great games, got the collection for christmas, but boring as hell to watch. If you are not playing it and are not entirely engaged it is not entertaining. It's not that bad when it's uncharted or 50 cent which have short cutscenes that are entertaining enough by themselves, but static images of faces talking is not nearly entertaining enough. There entire videos in their playthroughs just labelled "Cutscene" that I could not watch otherwise. I'm saying watch 50 cent first.

I enjoy Gamerkat09's replays for Haunting Ground and Clock Tower 3. And I think she's done all of the Silent Hill and Resident Evil games too.

At the mention of Uber Haxor Nova, just look at his Minecraft stuff (ESPECIALLY "WOOL"). On the subject of Minecraft, check out Kurtjmac's stuff. (Combat Canyon and Stranded in Minecraft (the latter in 1.8 each lasted 12 episodes. Minecraft Castaway lasted a little longer if it's not still ongoing (in 1.0), and of course Far Lands Or Bust is still going and is over 100 episodes long. Many of the subscribers are there for FLOB (naturally that's in 1.7.3)

He does some non-Minecraft stuff too, usually space related (He's covered things like Space Engine... and is currently doing an LP of Kerbal Space Program.

How popular is FLOB? well, not only is it on the Minecraft CMoA page (admittedly I added it) for the mere concept, but there have been tributes (even IN Kerbal Space Program), and custom skins made JUST FOR FLOB (including giving wolves 3D glasses - so Wolfie McWolfington (Kurt's wolf in FLOB) has some too.-
