Hm. . . For instance, in Ride on, the male vocal part changes towards the end. That second part is what I'm talking about.

I've just listened to that song; it honestly seems as though he just starts using a harsher sounding vocal delivery. Perhaps I'm missing something.

Right. I can't figure out how to do that. It's either completely clean or growling; I seem to be incapable of doing something harsh without going whole-hog.

There is a thing the singers from Pearl Jam and Cruachan, amongst others, do with their voice that I greatly enjoy. I have been trying to figure out how to do it, but I can't seem to get it. How does it work?
