High School DxD

Back in December, the second volume of Shin High School DxD was released. Does anyone have any predictions for the next volume?

Right now the latest volume is DX5, which is a collection of short stories. I think it just came out and only one of the stories has been summarized.

Okay, a guy from work mentioned this series and I decided to give it a shot. About half way through season 1, just finished the familiar episode.

My impression so far is that it's a good series so far but it feels like the animators are going out of their way to show bare boobs. Yes, I know Issei is a huge pervert and it fits but its going to cause an inevitable misunderstanding when my roommate/brother finds me watching this series one of these days.

That said this show is pretty novel to have a series where the MC is open with his perversion and still awkward when confronted with sex and romance, instead of being an accidental pervert like Yuuki Riyo or completely oblivious to romance like Luffy.

Issei's pure joy at discovering the clothes eating slime and utter despair when everyone killed it was hillarious. Actually, does he ever get a familiar in the novels?

I heard something about Ddraig starting to cry in embarrassment when ever the Oppai Dragon song comes up later on. Does anyone know where I could find a clip of that from the dub? I find the thought of Vegeta/All Might crying at his host's shenanigans hilarious.

Welcome. Of course, the Oppai Dragon clip with Ddraig can be found on episode 7 in the latest anime season, Hero.

You can't really fault the anime for all the naked oppai when it's in the source material as well.

Just finished watching New. The fact that Issei's power increases exponentially if boobs are threatened/he is promised boobs is hilarious.

With Sirzechs ordering all the female members of the ORC to live with Issei makes me wonder something- Is he trying to help Issei out? Force Rias to just be honest about wanting Issei? Or maybe just troll his baby sister. I'm leaning towards the last one.

I'm a little confused about a couple things with Xenovia- how the hell can she wield Durandal after becoming a devil? After becoming a devil shouldn't just holding a Holy sword hurt her? That is bugging the crap out of me. That said, the fact that she legitimately didn't see any kind of problem with asking Issei to get her pregnant is hilarious. Also a little confusing if she was raised in the Church like Asia, given that organization's emphasis on chastity before marriage. Doesn't make it any less funny though.

Ever since the fight with Raiser, the Gremorys have been approving of the idea of Rias and Issei getting together. If he's willing to risk his life, unbidden, challenging an immortal devil lord for her that's a good sign of just how much he cares about her. Besides, they can see how well Rias and Issei get along.

That said, Sirzechs is a bit of a troll too.

She is a "natural-born" holy sword wielder, in that she was born with the ability to wield holy weapons, before she ever became a Christian. Apparently that natural-born trait overrides her status as a devil and allows her to still wield holy weapons.

Xenovia's always been pretty open-minded in her beliefs. Not too surprising she's willing to bend the rules.

And of course, even after Xenovia was banished from the church and became a devil, she also had no problems with trying to have sex with Issei.

As for the upcoming North American home release of Hero, it looks like Ruben Tadeo Garcia is returning to voice Motohama.

So I heard that season 4 animated versions of the Juggernaut Drive and Asia's confession more accurate to the novels. Where can I see those?

The episodes are available on Crunchyroll and Funimation (the official streaming sites).

Unfortunately, we haven't heard anything about it from Kadokawa yet.

I assumed as much. Just wanted to double check since I don't really keep an eye on anime news outside of this site.

Is there really a point in having a separate page for Shin Dx D? It’s simply continuing the fifth arc. Index New Testament didn’t get its own page even though its storyline is completely different.

Quick update: Yen Press is going to release the original novels.

The light novels are officially going to be released in North America on October 20, 2020.

Necroing but has anyone read the novels? They started getting an English release back in October. I personally couldn't get into the anime but I started reading the novels recently and am thoroughly enjoying them.

I've read them personally. Looking forward to the next one, which is in April.

Wait, the books got actual releases stateside? Well damn. I guess I'll have to start running them down after I finish the last 2 Dresden Files.

Also, I heard a co-worker saying something about Season 5 being green lit? Is there any truth to that or was he just parroting a bad rumor?

Well as long as I'm performing Speak With Dead on this thread, I might as well ask a few questions I've gotten from catching up on the anime and reading LN spoilers.

So, the way I understand Issei's Illegal Move Tiana is that he somehow uses Boosted Gear to more or less hack into his Pawn pieces and bypass the need for outside authorization to promote himself at will, and then channels the power of that promotion into the Scale Mail to turn it into a form that maximizes the properties of whatever piece he promoted himself to. He can also use it to change his promotion mid-battle, which shouldn't be possible. I also heard somewhere that the rules were changed later on the series so that all Pawns can do that outside of rating games, is that last part true, or did I miss understand a wiki entry?

I've also been wondering about how kids work with reincarnated devils. So, say a human woman becomes a reincarnated devil and her husband stays human, if they have a kid would the child be considered half devil, or a quarter devil? My initial assumption is half devil, but the more I learned looking into the reincarnation process from the Evil Piece system, the less sure I am. It seems like when any other race besides humans get reincarnated, they seem to keep all the weaknesses of their original species.

Spoilering this next question because I'm not sure how common knowledge this is: So supposedly every other Devil, including the other original Satans were born from the original Lucifer and his wife Lilith. What confuses me is how does that make Vali's grandpa (I think his name was Rizevim?) any more worthy to take the last name Lucifer than any of the rest of the first generation if devils?

Okay, sorry for the double post but its been a few days and there's some shit I need to unload somewhere and this is probably the more relevant place to do it I can think of.

So, remember that coworker I mentioned who got me in the series in the first place? The fucker got arrested for 65 counts of Child Pornography. What the actually hell? Looking back I should have been way more suspicious when he said his favorite girl was Koneko and ge didn't know anything about the LN series. But I just assumed he liked her dry snark and insults.

What makes this event worse is that we liked a ton of the same series and now I'm going to be asking myself if he recommended a series to me be cause it was good, or because of.... Yeah.

In closing what the hell, hope he falls into a wood chipper feet first.
