Other Video Game Creatures And Characters Reimagined As Pokemon

This is something I used to do when I was bored: thing of other video game characters and think of what they would be like as Pokemon. What their types would be, stats, signature moves, that sort of thing.

It all started with a game of Smash, when we were having a Pokemon battle and I jokingly tried to argue that Kirby was practically a Pokemon anyway.

So, I'll start with Kirby himself. Note that when I do this sort of thing I usually think of stats in terms of Very Low, Low, Below Average, Average, Above Average, High, and Very High, as I'm not that perfect on what numbers match which area.

The general idea behind Kirby is essentially if the move Mimic effected his entire movepool as well as his type.

  • Kirby
    • Normal Type
    • Pink Puffball Pokemon
      • No evolutions or preevolutions.
    • Stats (give or take):
      • HP: Average: (70-80)
      • Atk: Above Average: High: (100)
      • Def: Below Average: (60)
      • Sp. Atk: Above Average-High: (100)
      • Sp. Def: Below Average: (60)
      • Spd: Average: (70-80)
    • Signature Moves:
      • Inhale: Before all attacks, the message "____ is inhaling" is shown. If the user is attacked, then the user takes no effect. If the opponent does not use a damaging move, than this attack fails. Depending on the attack used against it, the user becomes one of many different "styles" which may or may not change it's elemental type (for example, certain attacks may trigger a change to "Plasma"-type, while certain others may trigger a change to "Laser"-type, both of which are Electric type). If used when the user already has a power, then this attack will return the user to normal. This attack may fail if used twice in a row, including to reverse changes. Certain attacks such as Hyper Beam will not be effected by this move.
      • Copy Ability: If Inhale is used successfully, this attack will change into another attack (similar to Mimic) depending both the user's level and what type the user is changed to. For example, at low levels if the user becomes Plasma then Copy Ability will change to Thundershock, while it will instead become Thunderbolt at higher levels.
    • Examples of Powers and their Copy Abilities:
      • Plasma (triggered by moves such as Thundershock) - Electric: Copy Abilities include Thundershock, Spark, Thunderbolt, Charge, Thunder Wave, etc.
      • Needle (triggered by moves such as Pin Missile, as well as moves like Peck and the fang moves) - Bug - Copy Abilities include Pin Missile, Rollout, and Megahorn, etc)
      • Stone (triggered by moves like Rock Throw) - Rock - Copy Abilities include Rock Throw, Heavy Slam, Iron Defense, Rock Slide, etc.
      • Mirror Kirby (rare, as it is triggered by very few moves, such as Mirror Shot) - Psychic - Copy Abilities include Mirror Coat, Mirror Shot, Reflect, Light Screen, Haze, etc.
      • Crash (triggered by copying Explosion) - Normal - Copy Abilities include Explosion, Selfdestruct, Memento, and Destiny Bond. For extra fun, Crash can not be removed by the user - the only way to get out of Crash mode is to faint.
      • And so on...

Kirby has a very small movepool - it learns Gust, Low Kick naturally, as well as moves like Return by TM. It can learn Copy Ability up to three times, let's say at levels 10, 20, and 40 respectively.

It's worth noting that not all Copy Abilities will be of the type the power is. For example, Sword would be Steel-type, but one of Sword Kirby's copy abilities would be X-Scissor. Each Power would have a fairly extensive list of move that Copy Ability could change into, picked at somewhat random (they would be picked from a list that changes depending on level) as well as moves that always appear and thus, should you only have Copy Ability learned once, it will always change into that move.

Some powers would change abilities as well, for example Kirby's default ability is Levitate, but in Plasma-type it instead becomes Static.

I'm planning on doing a Bowser-line next.

See if you can redesign these characters, one is human, the other a monster.

Hm, I'd like to try it... So I went with my favorite character Luigi, reimagined as a legendary type. I designed him to be a bit odd but also trying to make him retain some of his Lightning Bruiser characteristics that he's known for in the Mario series (Platform games) as well as abilities, power up or not (from all Mario games but mostly from the Platform series, RP Gs, or Luigi's Mansion, as well as Smash Bros), without making him overpowered. I think I failed. tongue

Luigi

Legendary Type

Type: Ghost/Electric

Ability: Technician

Base Stats

  • HP: 92
  • Attack: 112
  • Defense: 102
  • Special Attack: 112
  • Special Defense: 102
  • Speed: 122
  • Total: 642

Moveset

  • Start: Karate Chop
  • Start: Jump Kick
  • Start: ThunderShock
  • Start: Confuse Ray
  • Start: Rollout**
  • Start: Soak**
  • Start: Fire punch**
  • Start: Dual Chop**
  • Start: Outrage**
  • Lv. 2: Wood Hammer
  • Lv. 5: Drill Run
  • Lv. 10: AncientPower
  • Lv. 15: Shadow Sneak
  • Lv. 20: ThunderPunch
  • Lv. 22: ThunderHand*
  • Lv. 25: Sky Uppercut
  • Lv. 30: ThunderPunch
  • Lv. 35: Low Kick
  • Lv. 40: Hi Jump Kick
  • Lv. 45: Flash
  • Lv. 50: ElectroBall
  • Lv. 55: Flame Charge
  • Lv. 60: Discharge
  • Lv. 65: Brick Break
  • Lv. 70: Dark Pulse
  • Lv. 75: Bounce
  • Lv. 80: Charge
  • Lv. 85: Metronome
  • Lv. 90: Quiver Dance
  • Lv. 95: Shadow Force*
  • Lv. 100: Luigi Jump*

*Signature Moves. Shadow Force assumes this is because Giratina isn't present.

** If we assume that Move Tutors are present, then disregard these.

TM Moves: Luigi can use most of the TM moves. Notable ones not on the Moveset include Shadow Ball, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Flamethrower, Thunder, Acrobatics, Hyper Beam, Giga Impact, Frost Breath, Wild Charge, Rock Smash, Dig, U-Turn, Volt Switch, all the Status Effect T Ms, Hm Moves include Fly, Surf, Strength, and Dive

Move Tutor: Luigi can learn most of the Move Tutor moves. Notable Moves here include Headbutt, Gravity, Outrage, Magnet Rise, Seed Bomb, Rollout, Vacuum Wave, Fire Punch, Iron Head, Swift, and Zen Headbutt.

Breeding: Luigi is a legendary type and thus can't breed.

ThunderHand is a special Electric-Type move with 90 base power and 100% accuracy which may decrease Defense and doubles in power if you're playing a double or triple battle and Mario is adjacent to you.

Luigi Jump is a physical Flying-Type move with 100 base power and 95% accuracy. The user bounces up high, and drops on the target on the second turn. If an opponent is using Fly, Bounce, or Luigi Jump, the move instead excecutes on the turn it's selected with doubled damage and 100% accuracy, and the opponent is forced back onto the ground.

All Touhou characters. Although personally I find the assignment of types rather arbitrary and stupid. I like the one that revised the types too, although that one has less signature moves.

I've thought of a Pokemon X Touhou thing quite a while back, that's rather different in concept from that hack. Maybe I'll post details of it sometime.

As for the topic, I don't really have any ideas.

[up] GOTTA GO FAST

And I wonder how some of the LoL champions would work? (it helps some aren't humanoid, and they have a total of 5 abilities counting the passive.)
