There's one incredibly subtle joke where Gob gives George Michael a monopoly set with missing pieces and George Michael doesn't sound that enthusiastic. Later on when Michael goes to see him he's stacking the monoply set with a stack of others- implying that Gob's been giving him the same gift over and over again.
I thought it was really neat.
Oh yeah, in the pilot! Gob asks him if he has Monopoly and George Michael's like "I think I might." And then when it looks like Michael and GM are going to move, we see he's got a whole stack of Monopoly boxes he's packing up.

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.A more obvious example, but I was amused by the fact (alluded to in a WMG) that Maebe's B.S. scam charity is very similar to a scam done by the older Bluth's involving the charity to fight to disease TBA.
Definite case of In the Blood I think.

Hell, that's one of the great things about the show. I recently started watching for the fifth time and I'm still noticing shit. For example:
- Maggie has a Cornballer in her kitchen in "Justice is Blind".
- Lupe's wearing a "Stanford University of Cartography" shirt in "Best Man for the Gob".
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.
