There is no indication other than the caption that one of them died.

The think the implication is that because it has a Newbery Medal, someone is going to die. Plus, it'd be a spoiler of the picture expressly showed one of them about to die. Keep it.

Yeah, good luck finding a cover of a kid book with a dead body on it.

As a matter of fact, now that I think about, anything like that would be a spoiler anyway, and therefore probably not a good thing for a picture.

Keep the picture.
