The fact that bare breasts used to be a symbol of purity (I believe this was during the time where bare ankles were a no-no for some reason) becomes either hilarious or brilliant when you consider Dizzy's design/personality.

But Didn't Daisuke design Dizzy simply to keep the fanbase from shipping Sol and Ky?

He must really hate Yaoi if that's the case, at least Mori embraces Ragna & Jin for the fangirls.

I thought he designed Bridget for that.

Acr System Works continues their tradition of making DLC characters long before the actual game is released. Bet you it's on the disc too. *groan*

I was about to write off this character as "lolmorewaifu" but then someone pointed out to me the visual pun in her design and now I'm happy.

It's meant to be a pre-order bonus character, so of course it's being made before the game is released.

That said, I'm not totally fond of this new character design, but I could be proven wrong. That visual pun you just pointed out is awesome though.

Arcsys is worse than Capcom when it comes to DLC practices. There, I said it.

Yeah, and people tend to overlook that Capcom has made their share of good decisions with dlc (sf4 upgrades in particular). Wish I could say the same for Arcsys.

Like the new character. Of course some people are on their "lolmoekawaiiwaifu" talk... ah well, it's not as if I don't blame them. Guess I'm a different breed.

No disagreement there. No one's going to acknowledge it since ASW is a more obscure company than Capcom but I'm sure everyone who plays their games hates it too.

I'd be slightly more okay with it if the majority of the DLC characters are free on launch like they did for Persona, but I kinda doubt that.

Dlc is how they get your money.

Still a lame character design wise at first glance and we already have a Guns N Roses tribute character so the pun doesn't cut it for me. Her gameplay sounds like it could be fun though.

Idk something about Xrd is lacking hype for me.

Plus, she's voiced by Mako.

You grew out of it perhaps? I mean GG was amazing back in the day, but at this point it's mainly the vets that are truly excited; I notice you get more hype for Blazblue than anything.

That's all I have to contribute to the discussion in terms of the woes of DLC. It's one thing how they handle the DLC, and it's another how much they charge for it.

And both are bullshit.

Is this in regards to Guilty Gear or just DLC in general, because if it's the latter; fuuuuuuuuccccckk that.

Arc Sys DLC in general. There are definitely cases of DLC better handled than this.

Although Ultimax offering Adachi and Marie for free in the first week is kinda nice, so that's an exception.

Ya know what I think it is; Arcsys knows that only the most diehard of fans are going to get the DLC, which is why they charge so fucking much for it. It's the biggest scam ever, but it's annoying as shit that it does...

Hmm. I was praying Arc Sys wouldn't be falling into Capcom's bad habits. Again, I mean.

On a brighter note: this pleases me.

Just came back from a little outing with my friends. Our last stop was an arcade and lo and behold; Guilty Gear XX. I think it was Slash, since Order Sol and ABA were in it.

It was definitely a worthwhile little venture, since the only GG game I've played (and gotten into GG through) is Accent Core, but because of that there was muscle-memory screw ups, where Ky's 3H in AC was 6H back in Slash.

I definitely used continues, but wouldn't you know it, the game let me fight Order Sol at the end. And by golly was he insane. He traversed full screen in what I swear was a nanosecond, and his health just wouldn't go down. There was no way I was beating him in a fair and square fight, so on my third try, I cheaped him out with Instant Kills. I was lucky he dashed into it both times.

To sum up; getting to play old versions of a game I love to get a better perspective on it. Let the hype train for Xrd roll onward.

I guess Xrd's roster nerf is what hurt the hype for me, as well as the somewhat disappointing soundtrack, boring announcer and despite being really impressive in the character models the animation decision kind of seems like it holds the presentation in battle back a bit.

Don't get me wrong it's still awesome we're getting a new GG finally but I worry it won't live up to expectations somehow, which would be a shame.

So in other words, it'll join SFIV and MVC 3 as the more popular game due to being new but not actually as good as the older games.

Well at least it'll have a scene in that case; the first step of reviving old franchises.
