If they give him a dub voice, they should try to make him sound like Chihiro Fujisaki .
Still male, but high pitched and androgynous enough to make hard to tell the difference at first.
Watch SymphogearI'm gonna interrupt this talk about Bridget for a sec to ask for some help regarding one of Ramlethal's combo challenges, the 6th or 7th one in the advanced section I think. The one that starts c.S > 2D > Dauro > PK > PK > PPP. The PPP is supposed to wall splat into the corner so the rest of the combo can hit Sol, but for some reason I can't figure out, he keeps teching out of the splat when I dash in to continue the rest of the combo. I can hit him with the first couple of hits, but he techs out instead of sliding to the floor. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. This combo is really pissing me off in general, because there are so many spots early on to drop the combo that I only have something like a 40% success rate of even getting him to the wall. That's when I'm not inputting the DP motion so fast that I screw up right away and do a Dust attack instead of a sweep.
Advice please. There's no way people actually use combos like this in real match play, right?
(EDIT) Turns out I'm not really interrupting anything, given the last post was in 2018. Lol, this is what happens when I just search for the thread in the searchbar instead of the threads list.

Can't think of anything witty, so have this instead...Sorry mate, maybe ask over at Dustloop on combo help?
Heya. I just picked up Xrd on PC after getting an email with a really good markdown deal (I'll link it if anyone's interested, but not sure at this moment if it'd be spam) . I haven't played the GG series before though, so I'm not quite sure what I'm in for. I've just been on a fighting game kick thanks to Mortal Kombat and the deal was good enough not to pass up.
Anything I should know going in as a relative noob?

Welcome!
Story wise, you'll be mostly in the blind because this is the latest entry. Thankfully, Steam and other sites have the games and when they go on sale, will be affordable in its entirety.
If you want the latest and competitively healthiest scene, you need to do Xrd Rev 2, which is the updated version of Revelator. Otherwise, you can fun at your own pace.
If you're familiar with anime fighters in general, you'll understand how frenetic it gets. Thankfully, Arc Sys has been very good with tutorials so definitely look those up first thing.
Will do. I'm not one for competitive play so I'll mostly be screwing around in single player for the most part unless someone I play other games with happens to have it already. My initial exposure to the game was years upon years ago, one of the early games.
I haven't played much in the way of anime fighters, so we'll see how it goes.
Also here's the deal in question, if anyone wants to take advantage of or share it. It's good for another week and the price is marked down to $14.84 (down from $49.99): https://www.fanatical.com/en/game/guilty-gear-xrd-revelator-and-rev-2-all-in-one-and-dlc-characters
EDIT: Game just finished installing so let's try her out.
This is fun. I did the tutorial and a few one off fights on easy. Didn't have much trouble, though it was interesting to note the character specific mechanics, like Sin Kyske having to eat mid-battle. I'm not sure what the deal with Raven was, though.
Also, a fun aside, I recognized the opera house stage from a video I saw recently about the 7 Worst Places to Have a Fight

No Smile: Levels 0-2
Regular Smile: Levels 3-5
Tongue Smile: Levels 6-10
Each round the gauge starts at level 0 and increases when Raven uses his special move "Give it to me HERE" (214K) to absorb the opponent's attacks. While using "Give it to me HERE", his gauge will slowly increase over time even if Raven does not absorb any attacks. Hitting the opponents with certain specials also fill the meter.
Grausam Impuls: 1 Level
Wachen Zweig: 3 Levels
Verzweifelt: 5 Levels
Note, if Raven doesn't gain Excitement within a 10 second period, the Excitement meter starts to drain. This timer is reset by using any of the three aforementioned specials, along with using "Give it to me HERE". While Raven takes damage, the timer is paused and Excitement meter doesn't drain.

Song of the SirensThanks for that. I did see in the command list how certain moves were affected by excitement, but I think I missed/overlooked the one that actually increases it
New GG planned for next year
Hype shit
Short haired Ky and guest starring Woolie
ky is fuckin gorgeous
Song of the SirensDon't know who this new dude is, but he looks like the real deal.
One Strip! One Strip!New dude looks like Woolie. And Tekken 7 just announced a DLC character that looks like an old man version of the same guy.

Watch SymphogearOh this looks so much better than Xrd did! For one thing, the faces no longer look stiff!
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.Wonder if ASW found a way to incorporate alternate costumes this time around?
Ky looking JACKPOT
And OMG a black guy! Dude looks BOSS.
This already looks better than Xrd and Xrd looked great.
And thankfully Ky is back to his short hair. Though I wonder if Sin's gonna have long hair now lol.
Also bring back anji and Testament. And Bridget of course lol.

Well, it's official. This year's Evo had more announcements that interested me than this year's E3.
New guy looks boss but of course he'd steal the show since Ky Vs Sol is exactly what they showed to announce Xrd for the first time.
I'm just so happy Ky is back to his old hairstyle.
There were like, 7 long haired blondes in Xrd and it was getting kinda silly.
It's a shame that GG didn't get a spot this year but at least we know there's a sequel (or for whatever reason an expansion) is coming next year.
The new guy looks like someone from Revengeance
Already been called Black Hakumen
He looks so rad
susanoo is black hakumen
Song of the SirensSusan is a dinosaur
You're totally right. He definitely has that vibe.
Can't wait until we actually know his name.
He's definitely up there on the list of awesome designs though; trust Guilty Gear to always have cool looking reps. Makes me wonder what kind of playstyle mystery ronin will have; imma guess he'll be very fast.
I thought his GGX 2 vs portrait made it clear he was a dude. He totally looked like a guy in drag.
Those portraits were drawn really well looking back. Expressive and you could really get a feel for most of the characters from them.
