Jyrus growled somewhat. The man struck a chord in him. Several, actually. He hated to admit it, even to himself, but he was ashamed of this meaningless living, surviving by hunting these teethless cattle, doing nothing but scraping by.

He shot a glare at Blue Moon, who interrupted his discussion with the man. " Plunder while you have the chance, little one!" He snarled. " For once I begin, you will have none!"

He turned back to Sarath, a troubled look on his face. He looked him in the eyes, and spread his palms towards him. " The past is the past." He said solemnly. " We may have left it behind, but it's reach is long, and it's chains tight. What path would you suggest, sage? A bird can not fly whist bound, and so am I tethered to this pitiful state. What then would you propose?"

"As you stand, you live by wit and will alone," Sarath replied, "No obligations bind you but your own lack of vision. Scavenge this day if you will, but you stand to gain nothing from it. No chains hold you Bird, turn to the sky and you may conquer the heavens."

Blue moon looked at the chatty archer, and rolled her eyes at Jeanne's proclamation. "If you got enough energy to talk, then you've got enough energy to fight." She smirked, "C'mon sweetheart let's dance." Blue moon ran straight at Jeanne, hoping that she'd close the gap before the admittedly skilled archer could nock another arrow to her bow. Pulling her right arm back while she ran; Blue Moon lunged forward with iron blade as soon as the archer was within arms reach.

(OOC: Ok lets see if I got this right. Jeanne's speed is 9, Blue Moon's Skill is 7, so 7/9 is 0.77, or 77%. I rolled a 32 so rather amusingly I miss! I think....)

As Blue Moon raced forward, her eagerness got the better of her and a misplaced step caused her to slip ever so slightly throwing off her strike at the cheeky archer. It wasn't a major slip up so the ragged girl was able to catch her footing before she fell on her scrawny arse. So besides looking the fool she was none the worse for her efforts. Though being within point-blak range of an archer probably wasn't the best place to be. The young thief scrambled to find cover before the archer could fire off an attack of her own.

Sarath's words stung, like salt on an open wound, striking deep within Jyrus, finding his doubts, the gaps in his armor like a bloodhound and exploiting them, wearing away at his defenses like water.

He was right.

As much as Jyrus ached with guilt and remorse, as much as he tried to tell himself that he was making amends, or receiving his righteous punishment, suffering his exile among these sheep... it was only his twisted sense of justice and self-loathing that still chained him.

He bit his lip, drawing blood. There was a pregnant silence as he struggled with himself, before Sarath's words won out. He gave a small, almost imperceptible, nod. " ... I find your words... ring true, sage." He admitted, haltingly, part of him hating himself. " What then, sage, is to be done? Take to the skies and go where?"

Your legacy shall drift away, blown into eternity, like the sands of the desert.

"The World lies decaying beneath us. The Goddesses lay dead, having struck against their thralls! Their corpses make home to new worms, who find comfort in the warmth from their decay. Yet the world stands blinking, sovereigns hold their reign still in the name of those who spat their last breaths against them, defiling the corpses of their abusers from love. Foul beasts and dumb curs, sit in silence as the world rots beneath them. Standing still now, can you not feel this miasma reaching upwards to engulf you, Wolf? The entire world grows weak and stagnant. The question is not what is possible for one who has vision, but rather what is not possible."

Sarath paused, "Tell me, can you not feel the world fall dead with the silence between our replies? Abandon your cause to petty looting and we shall see the world enveloped."

[[Hey everybody, I'm terribly sorry I haven't posted anything in so long. My personaly life has been beyond hectic lately and has left me with little time to devote to this rp. Is anyone still interested in it?]]
