Much better.
I like it. Supporting that in favor of the current one.
Support Gravitaz on Kickstarter! It's also much more legible than the current. Support switching.
Yeah, unwritten rule number one: follow all the unwritten procedures. - CamacanSupport the switch too.
If a chicken crosses the road and nobody else is around to see it, does the road move beneath the chicken instead?I oppose it. The switch is of terrible quality. It's blurry, the monuments are barely recognizable. Get something clearer. Not counting that if we are replacing it because the current one has a wrong image of the colossus, while the new one depicts the Temple of Artemis as being solely made of 4 pillars, that would be kind of hypocritical of us.
You can't raise an issue to replace an image, and replace it with an image that has the same issue, but worst quality.

Good point about the Temple of Artemis.
Oppression anywhere is a threat to democracy everywhere. On a related note, just did a massive fix of the page. There is no "official" list of modern/natural wonders (there are, in fact, several). Cleared up a bunch of misused tropes too and outright wrong facts.
Same image, different Colossus:
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.
Should I mention that the oldest known lists have the Ishtar Gates instead of the Lighthouse? Should it be seen on the picture?

Interesting, that's the first I've heard of that...might be worth putting in a caption with a hottip about that.
Also, how are you getting that the replacement's blurred? It looks fine to me, plus people might be confused by the Mausoleum referring to the actual person and not the location in rodney's replacement.

This one needs better labels, but that can be fixed with photoshop when I get home.
Sorry for the double post but its been a fair amount of time since the last post.
If we're going to fix it, just don't use the "Seven Wonders" logo. It's I think from a dubious organisation responsible for the dubious competition of compiling the new lists via worldwide votes; in any case, they're not involved in Antipater's list.
Should be "Mausoleum of Halicarnassus". There are many mausoleums.

The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman. There are also many Temples of Artemis, but I don't have room to add "At Ephesus". I was figuring people could look at the article for the complete title of everything.

Eh. It's not of the same magnitude; mausoleum is now a generic word for great tombs. It's just wrong.
I still prefer your original suggestion, however. I think the reduction of the Temple of Artemis (at Ephesus ) to pillars is an acceptable caricaturisation, unlike depicting the Colossus wrongly. Not ideal, but acceptable.
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman.Would it be possible to make each frame the same size?
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Ideally there would be more that one picture. One map showing where anything is, and one picture for each of the Wonders. Would something like that be allowed? I know it isn't the norm for tropes, but being a Useful Notes page this isn't quite the same.
The article is kind of too short to have many pictures.
Also the exact description of the monuments is kinda iffy what with them mostly long gone (and, in one case, probably fictitious). So I don't exactly think huge images showing each monuments is that needed.
It is my intention to eventually expand the article with a brief description of each monument.
If we go with a single one, I'm fine with the either map or one of the collages that correctly depicts the Colossus, at least as far as not doing the whole "standing astride the harbour entrance" bit. You are correct in pointing out that seeing how most of them are not still around, we don't know exactly what some of them look like.
If we must specify, it's usually the Mausoleum AT Halicarnassus, not "of". Though I don't see why we must.
Easily enough fixed in Photoshop, but I'm not going to photoshop it yet again until I know which one we are using.
Do we need a crowner?
At is more common. I stand corrected.
Like I said, "mausoleum" is now a generic word for an elaborate tomb. That mausoleum isn't even the most famous, we have Lenin's and Taj Mahal.
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman.
Crown Description:
Nominations for replacement images:
The current picture inaccurately depicts the Colossus of Rhodes as a standing in such a way as to allow ships to sail beneath it. While this is a common myth associated with the Colossus, it is not in fact accurate.
This map is more accurate and also gives an idea of the location of the wonders.
