Agreed. I think that adding to many elements would make the town feel to big.

That would be true if he saw her as just a weather pony (her personality would probably still grate on him). But if he found out that she was the bearer of the Element of Loyalty. . .

I like the idea that the Others visit Ponyvile to at Moonbeam's urging because he insists it is the heart of a vast conspiracy. He has come across information that leads him to believe "an agent of the throne is studying previously unknown forces, possibly magical, and issuing reports to someone very high up in the royal court"

Heh, like AJ Big Rig is doomed to not get as much focus as the others. He'll be doomed by the fact that he needs to be out of town so much.

Edit: Maybe have it work up from various hints Moonbeam builds up. The Summer Sun Celebration was in Ponyville, he's heard a story from Trixie that Twilight Sparkle (the most powerful unicorn to ever come out of Celestia's school and Celestia's personal protege) lives in or at least visited Ponyville after a lifetime of being a recluse in Canterlot etc.

Also, does anyone else get the feeling that Moonbeam would be the type of pony to be taking a bunch of correspondence courses, some of which are less than reputable?

Oh, another small question...how mute should Chuckles be? It is very important that he never speaks unless deprived of his powers...but could he still be able to whistle? Or blow a rasberry?

I personally think it would be funnier if he were completely mute.

Magic is involved. I'd go for full mute. Can't make a single sound with his mouth.

Like...Luna tells them to root out threats to the public good in Ponyvile, and a series of miss-hints makes Moonbeam think that TS is devloping some magical superweapon (over hearing part of her latest letter to Princess C and what not) and the Mane Six plane to abuse the Eo H and overthrow Celestia.

I would rather it not go that far but yes, some red herrings and missed clues do cause Moonbeam to suspect Twilight of being up to no good.

I would also prefer if the Other Six were kept in the dark about the fact that the Mane Six are the bearers of the Elements of Harmony.

I'm picturing it being like in the Professor Layton games where he gathers up everyone else and slowly, piece by piece of evidence, unearths the mystery of the game. Of course in Moonbeam's case he'll usually be wrong.

The other's try to help him dial back his wild theories so recently he has actually had a pretty good track record of solving cases.

In this case however it is probably to big of a possible conspiracy for his friends to get him back to earth.

AJ is really strong as well. Doesn't mean she isn't overshadowed. And she has the advantage of always being at Ponyville.

I know...after the adventure that binds the group together, he is offered a job by the logging company because he has the strength of 10 ponies...and he accepts. This lets him hang around close to Hoofington.

Also, how about, he was the first one to meet Moonbeam, who was hitch hiking. He gave him a lift into town, and talked his ear off on the way.

Edit: Moonbeam was hitch hiking into town, after being attacked by a monster, which Scales fought off before BR arrived.

Also this logging company. Does it take lumber from the Everfree? Cause that sounds very dangerous.

Oh, and I'm working on a short piece about when Trixie came to Hoofington and the !Foil Six saw her. I'm setting it shortly after Boast Busters. I'll post it when I'm done.
