Or does this story not quite go into Twilight territory?

I don't think there's anything left to be ruined by now.

[up][up] If you can watch Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, this shouldn't be too bad.

1. Don't be presumptuous. You alone can't effect an entire concept

2. Not sure I should read this. I never payed enough attention to Castlevania's story, just its gameplay.

That's okay. It has this in it (when the entire point of that particular character is how she dresses in giant robes to disguise herself as a man) and pretty much completely disregards Castlevania III canon.

My main concern is whether or not the way Sypha is using her witch's teat at the end of the story makes any kind of sense in general vampire mythos.

I have banned Dragonzordasaurus or however he spells it. Enough.

I agree with the decision, but I'd still like to know under what grounds?

Well, we do have a new "anti-horrible" policy, as some people like to call it, and he definitely fell under that...

I'm not complaining. It's not called the "anti-horrible" policy for nothing.

Also, this thread is now essentially pointless, and probably should be locked.

I tend to think that portraying horrible things as horrible is sort of the best thing you can do with them, so I'm kinda saddened by this.

Well, it hasn't been set in stone yet as to how it will be enforced, so maybe the mods will use discretion. I'm not hugely optimistic, but you never know.

Portraying horrible things as horrible is certainly the right way to handle them.

One of the constant complaints about our moderation is that we let disruptive users continue to be disruptive for way too long because they never do one single bright-line violation, but rather constant pushing of the boundaries.

From my point-of-view, that's over. Constant pushing of the boundaries sooner or later is sufficient grounds for getting rid of someone. In this case, he's had multiple warnings about his behavior and while the stuff here is no big deal stood on its own, it is a continuation of what he'd been warned about.

I realize that some people get paranoid about bannings because, I think, they are worried that their social skills are not good enough to discern the boundaries. In this case, using us as a testbed for trollfic is not acceptable when that's nigh-on all they do around here.

Really, he should have been banned for incidents in the past; this is minor.

I'll leave this thread open for a little bit to respond to any questions, because I'd rather a spirit of openness about this. I will lock it later.

It's the Rule Zero of Forums: a forum's moderators can ban anyone they like for any reason they like. If they abuse this power, their community will leave them.

And I feel no particular urge to leave, because as loath as I am to admit it, on a personal philosophical level, there are some cases where you have to apply rules subjectively to deal with Rules Lawyers and the like. Just my two cents, take it or leave it.
