It's so old it predates the "old" discussion system. It has NO incoming links except from the YMMV index. It has no application to works of fiction whatsoever. I've cutlisted it twice for that very reason, and it was declined both times.

Seriously, why does this even exist?

[up]I have no idea why this page exists. It contributes nothing.

The question is, which Cut Master denied the cut, and why? Is there any way to check on that?

Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.

It was probably declined because it is causing no problems and there is no consensus to cut yet. Pointless page though. (cf. Bizarre And Improbable Giraffe Herding Techniques)

This seems like a forum trope, and might be fitting in works where this happens in-universe.

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.

That's the thing though. DOES this happen in-universe? It seems overly specific. I can't think of any work that even uses internet forums.

Internet forums are a work.

They are, but we don't have many pages on internet forums, if any. I still fail to see how this is applicable.

They are works. Our depth of or lack of coverage for them makes no difference.

Also, stop cut listing those camera moves, please. They are tropes of the medium

This seems like a defined internet term, not a trope to me.

I guess it's not doing any harm, it just seems really pointless, though.

I agree with Fast Eddie on this one. There are a few forum threads I am personally familiar with that I'm planning on adding because they are actually quite trope-able.

Get a slant at this glossary of Pulp Detective terms. It rates. Pipe that?

This is basically explaining Forum Burnout or Fandom Burnout. (the latter is something I personally experience with some works.)

[up]Support. That page seems a lot more pointless then this one.

This page at the very least needs to have examples. Otherwise I don't see the point in keeping it.

[up][up][up] Reading over that page's archived discussion—this is one of the many reasons why we got rid of the Title Bin.

EDIT: Finished reading it and learned that this actually received a cut request a long time ago, but Eddie declined it 'cause it's pointless but harmless.

Fine. I shall then make a page that simply says "purple monkey dishwasher fahrvergnĂĽgen ampersand tehshigelisok" 9001 times and argue viciously that it be kept because it's lolrandom funny. </sarcasm>

[up] I, too, have noticed an inconsistency here. Recursion, an imported Uncyclopedia joke, seemed like pretty obvious cut material since it is essentially vandalism, but apparently it's funny enough to warrant a keep. Lol NOPE wasn't and the creator was suspended for it.

[up][up]While I'd argue in favor of cutting it, I'd honestly understand if people felt like it was worth keeping if it was doing no harm and was specifically marked as Just for Fun - which is something I think does need to be done with the "giraffe-herding" page.

[up]Memes have a tendency to actively harm the wiki in a way something like this doesn't.

[up] I wasn't even aware that Lol NOPE is a meme. I haven't checked Know Your Meme since April because it taught me that there is no humor to be found in an internet meme.

I don't think BAIGHT needs to be given the Just for Fun page type, banner, and index because it is part guideline and not all that interesting on its own.

So I guess the reason pages like these exist is solely because they are doing no harm.

[up]I don't know if it technically is or not, but it's quite definitely memetic.
