Yeah, the guy who played one of the most gifted computer users on the planet in Numbers can't use a computer to save his life in CSI: Cyber?
There's a word for that and it rhymes with rowlocks.
In all fairness, MachNichol's character in Numb3rs was never presented as particularly computer savvy. Not a Luddite, but he was a theoretical physicist so he knew some of the algorithm and math computer used, but I don't really ever remember him being presented as some sort of computer genius (As opposed to regular genius).
He was actually an Astrophysicist (Its rerunning on german tv during the week atm) but even so he let Amita do most of the heavy duty coding and was focused on the math behind it.
"You can reply to this Message!"Right, Astrophycist. God that show was silly.
But it was silly in just the right and fun ways
"You can reply to this Message!"She was in True Romance, so we choose to overlook these....shortcomings.
I'm a skeptical squirrelAnd she was fine in Medium.
"If I reach for the stars, you can't hold me back"Fine being the operative word. I was watching both at the time and while Medium was less campy, Ghost Whisperer had Jennifer Love-Hewitt, who is less sedated.
I'm a skeptical squirrelEhhh...I could never take Hewitt seriously in GW.
"If I reach for the stars, you can't hold me back"Anyone watching the CSI finale tonight?
If I had a nickel for every film where Emma Stone falls off a balcony... I'd only have two nickels, but weird that there's two of them.William Petersen's acting in that last scene... Wow.
The finale was OK I thought. Honestly though, it felt like a pretty standardized episode, with the return appearances of Grissom and Catherine ( and Catherine's daughter) being the only real highlights.
What bothered me was how almost all the supporting cast was sidelined, and the majority of the episode was really about Grissom, Sara, and Catherine. All the other characters we'd come to like (or dislike) over the past 15 years (such as Greg, Doc Robbins, Dave, Hodges, etc.) were all pushed to the side (and Nick having a send-off in the episode prior). We don't hear anything about what their lives will be in the future, or what their plans will be for the future, they were all just sorta left hanging.
I didn't really care much for Finley, but I thought it was kinda cold that they pulled an Alas, Poor Scrappy on her
What was also frustrating, is it had been reported that at the wrap party afterward, several other former cast members were present like Archie Kao and Liz Vassey, and I just thought, "If they were gonna invite these people to the wrap party, why not include them in the series finale?!"
If I had a nickel for every film where Emma Stone falls off a balcony... I'd only have two nickels, but weird that there's two of them.I fully agree with that. Besides Sara, basically no one of the regulars had any screentime. Even the newer cast member. DB basically got to sit behind a laptop and do the computer thing (despite it never really being his forte but I guess its to justify his move to Cyber) which sucks coz I'd have loved to see him interact more with Grissom, since they are both kind of weird geniuses.
Heck, they bring Brass back, and you can see them twisting themselves to give him screentime, which is why against all logic and reason he's at Lady Heather's home when the car blew up and he got set on fire.
Also the bee thing made no sense, even by CSI science standard. Detecting "Trace of humans" ? What do the bees emit pheromone if they fly without 10 miles of a human?
Here's something I gotta ask.... is there something between Marg Helgenberger and Elisabeth Shue?
The reason i ask is because, it just seems like the writers and producers for CSI went out of their way to make sure they didn't have any scenes together.
Shue's character Finley was killed off in the next-to-last episode, with Marg's reappearance happening in the series finale.
In the 300th episode, Catherine's return was orchestrated via flashbacks, when it didn't really need to be. And even odder is there were behind the scenes photos from the 300th episode showing Marg posing with the other CSI cast members, including Ted Danson, but Shue was conspicuously absent from these photos.
So..... I'm probably reading too much into it, but I gotta ask, do these two actresses just not like each other? Did they have some kind of spat years ago? It's weird.
If I had a nickel for every film where Emma Stone falls off a balcony... I'd only have two nickels, but weird that there's two of them.Given that they only found out that this would be the final episode after last season finished airing, I doubt that played into it at all.
Both Shue and George Eads chose, for whatever reason, not to return for the finale.
Their reasons? F*&k you, not enough moneyz.
I think.
Well, Eads was probably more along the lines of "I just left in the previous episode." Why would he need to come back for the final episode knowing that his character would probably be sidelined because they've done all his good-byes already?
So, D.B. is now divorced? I guess this means Peri Gilpin won't show up on CSI Cyber.
If I had a nickel for every film where Emma Stone falls off a balcony... I'd only have two nickels, but weird that there's two of them.Does Cyber still do the "How the internet is going to kill you" crime per week? It sounded good but all the scare mongering turned me off in the end.
"You can reply to this Message!"Hell, i'm convinced most of the cyber tricks featured in the show is made up.
Like the latest episode. A dating site where you can track the whereabouts of someone you're interested in?
If such a site existed, as AVGN said in his "Double Vision" review: "There'd be lawsuits up the ass!"
If I had a nickel for every film where Emma Stone falls off a balcony... I'd only have two nickels, but weird that there's two of them.Honestly its mostly the fact that its made up and yet its all the implied "this could happen to you!" that break my suspension of disbelief.
"You can reply to this Message!"Am curious: I stopped watching whrn Grissom left, but if I wanted to poke at the series now that the finale has happened are there any "best of" episodes worth seeking out post-Grissom?
The series completely changed in tone and direction when Grissom left so there really isnt much aside from the finale which brought the series back to the original tone and direction.
Honestly, the show makes me amazed anyone gave Patricia Arquette an Oscar. Like, wow. She can't act for shit. Her performance is so wooden each time she's on screen I get splinters. Makes me sad we're losing Peter MacNichol because even if his character is terrible, he can actually act. She's easily the worst regular cast member of any CSI series I can think of. At least David Caruso was A) Aware of how over the top his character was, and B) Hilarious.
I love how Gizmodo in their (Hilarious) recap keep writing Arquette as Oscar Winnerâ„¢ Patricia Arquette. Coz yeah....
