I stopped watching Naruto near the beginning of Shippuden, when I realized I honestly didn't give a shit about what was happening to any of the characters.
I stopped watching Code Geass for a while after the Euphinator plot twist, just because I felt it was so aggressively stupid. But I eventually finished watching that series anyhow.

Simple. Sometimes, you have had enough. You are either screaming at the computer screen, saying, "GET OVER IT" or "PUNCH SOMETHING ALREADY" while watching/reading anime/manga. But sometimes, our old friends from the east take it a bit to far. So what arc made you give up just because it was too dragging.
