Sarah tensed up, not sure what to expect, despite the obvious mastery of metallic mayhem presented before her.

Wait for it...

-The fella descends to the streets, his arms effortlessly scaling down the wall while he hangs there, their clamps serving as wriggly legs and then strong stilts as he reaches the ground, starting to approach them-

A little longer...

Sarah gritted her teeth and clenched a gloved fist.

Aaaand webs!

-Spidey shoots his webs, globbing two of the tentacles to the ground mid-stride, causing their opponent to lurch-

-Two free tentacles reach out, one for each of them-

Sarah dove for the ground in an attempt to dodge the tentacle, with a solid "oof!" as she hit the bare concrete.

-Spidey vaults over his, but the one that missed Sarah whips around and smacks him across the street, denting a car door-

I don't want this, but you always insist.

Sarah rolled onto her back, expecting anything from this insane encounter.

Sarah, run for i— ghk!

-A clamp chomps on his shoulder and lifts him up, as Four Arms Guy rips two of his tentacles free, lowering himself to the ground to walk on his own two feet, taking an empty needle from his pocket, removing it from its sterile package-

Sarah blanked out, looking at her own hand and then at the good doctor, deciding what to do...

that is, assuming that she is within a few feet or so of him, and, more importantly, within arm's reach, give or take a little effort

-He's a couple of feet away, maybe ten. A few good strides and you could grab him, his back is turned-

-Spidey tries to pry off the clamp, but another two grab him by his wrists, spreading them apart as he's pressed against the crunched car, the needle getting closer-

You'll thank me when you're cured, and living to see graduation.

Sarah gritted her teeth once again, and made for Octopus.

-She reaches him, Otto not seeming to consider her any risk-

-Spidey's foot finds itself on the car door as he tries to get leverage-

-He sees Sarah-

Sarah—!?

Sarah squeezed her eyes shut and laid hands on Otto-

-WHUMP-'

Once again, the sound of air, hitting a wall at a million miles an hour, crashing against that immovable object, imperceptible but hardly something one could ignore, as a flash of light hit Otto with the same force as the sound, blinding but not harmful, total but unknowable, and-

the street squelched, like spit between teeth as one undulated the cheeks, but more raw, more real, more alive, more raw.

Heavy breathing- focused-

a distant scream of pain all too far but right, close, inside the ear-

the sky, god, the sky! black, and red, and black, and red, and black and red and black and red like the guillotine crying out for its next rider not pitch but not vivid but like a dream! a nightmare!

eyes. eyes along the wall. eightball fractured and rolling like they were attached to madmen, desperate for relief as god himself shocks the sinners and the hooks keep them awake, dug into the wall, harsh spears that reflect the punishment upon the killer unrepentant of his sins

heavy breathing, focused-

can you feel

can you feel it, doctor?

face. your. sins.'

-Otto screams, Spidey wrenching the car door free with his foot and thacking the tentacles aside. Otto doesn't try to grab him again as Spidey leaps up atop the vehicle-

-Otto looks around, frantically confused, his arms trying to steady him, making electronic noises of alarm as their human combination hallucinates-

Sarah removed her hand, satisfied with the results-

-WHUMP-'

And a sense of normality, the city as things should be, but to a simple man

-How was infinity?-

Sarah reeled back, one hand locked onto the opposite wrist, coughing and wheezing and-

-Hey Spider Man-

-assuming your spidey-sense picks it up-

-there are tears-

-streaming down her face like a cascade-

-Otto clutches his head as Spidey takes the chance, shoulder-shoving Otto into the wall and webbing him over and over until he's cocooned to it-

-His shooters spent, he goes to Sarah's side, reaching out to her shoulder-

Hey, hey. It's okay.

Sarah breathed deeply, as if stunned, chewing the inside of her cheek like her life depended on it.

She didn't look pained, or in trouble, just....

shocked, surprised at herself for the mustering of such an unholy energy.

Come on, he can't hurt us now, let's...

-He scoops her up and jumps up, webswinging-

-Well!-

-this narrator would like to humorously mention that Sarah is hardly, hardly! a damsel in distress!-

-BUT-

-nonetheless, she didn't object to his actions, trying to keep her head above the metaphorical water as he made his way to...wherever-

-He got her to the edge of town, setting her down in an alley, beside a dumpster-

Sarah?

Sarah set a hand on the dumptster, a repetition lost on her, herself, breathing heavily as she squeezed her eyes shut in an attempt to keep reality at bay.

Frowning, she put a hand to her head, still fighting away tears.

I'm right here, okay?

-He steps over, gently putting his arms around her-

-Whoa there, Spidey-

-Reaching out to her triggers that sense, that sense, you know?-

-and that something else, that scratching at the back of your mind like nails on chalkboard-

-that other-

-maybe, just mayyyyybe touching her right now aiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin't the best idea-

-He backs off-

God... what do I do?

Sarah had curled up into a ball, legs drawn up and arm around them, breathing heavily.

She stiffened up slightly, and looked over her withdrawn knees with a pifitul, knowing look.
