Curious about other people's thoughts on the show.

Personally, I'm not in love with it, but it's addicting in that you really want to know what's going to happen next. There's a lot of unanswered questions that promise to lead somewhere interesting (hopefully), and the show's really good at making one thing seem like another, and then when you think you have it all figured it, it throws a wrench into everything, and you realize that nothing's really what it seems at all.

My only problems with the series seems to be that the acting of some of cast seems too wooden. And also, the massive Idiot Ball the characters keep insisting on picking up and carrying around.

edit: Let me rephrase that (I got thumped for being too mean on the Charmed thread).

I went into Ringer hoping (but not expecting) that SMG could carry this series. She is a good actress, but not a versatile one. Anyone who has watched Cruel Intentons knows that SMG can't play 'bad girls' very well. And here she's playing a stripper and a supervillain. That was a misstep.

[up] I definitely agree with the assessment on Sarah Michelle Gellar. The fact that she's playing two characters doesn't really help.

I don't expect the show to make it too far either, but for now I do want to see where everything is going to lead.

The Idiot Ball needs to go, however. Everyone is playing catch with it way too mcuh.

I do enjoy Nestor Carbonell as the detective and Malcom Ward (heh) as the sponsor.

Overall, it's a strange blend of Donnie Brasco and Melrose Place.

I just read your edit on your first post. I think the fact that they don't really know how evil they want to make Siobhan also hurts SMG portrayal as her. Her personality whips around way too much. At least Bridget is a somewhat more consistent character in the way she acts.
