11?
That's not very big, especially in a single-plauarity system.
So, if there's some division in the Tories over a policy, then it can't pass, can it?
EDIT: Oh, a majority of 11 on 39.6% of votes. That's very single-pluarality.

Canada is now a three party system, mate. Before the NDP was kingmaker only in minority situations, but now all three aprties now have legitamate power.
So, if there's some division in the Tories over a policy, then it can't pass, can it?
There won't be. They will only try to pass things the majority of conservatives like. I sense Harperites will be hesitant to do anything fundementalist or lower taxes even more.
Btw it's spelled plurality.

If you don't like a single Frank Ocean song, you have no soul.Oh, I see.
Thanks for the spelling error check. My spellchecker was being weird.
The Liberals got molested last election. I wouldn't be surprised if the NDP outright replaces them as the counterpart to the Tories. All that complaining about the NDP splitting the left-wing vote? Now it's turned against the Grits.

Seriously, though, it's what they get for saying alternative parties "can't make a difference." (Yeah, not with that attitude...)

"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartI view it as a temporary setback. Look at how fast the Tories bounced back from 1993.
Seriously, I doubt the party responbile for everything Canadians are roud of will stay in the third party status.

If you don't like a single Frank Ocean song, you have no soul.I could say the same of the Democrats (who successfully won WWII) but then again, they also did WWI and the Vietnam War, so maybe not...
Anyhow, do you think the Tories will win whichever the next election is...?
I am now known as Flyboy.Nope. They will selfdestruct as Tories always do.
They're already building up a nice record of corruption and mismanagement. And most Canadians don't actually like Conservative policies - the Tories just relied on campaiging and attack ads.
And I'm not exaggerating: health care (ok, the NDP started it), multiculturalism, the flag, the Constitution... everything was Liberal.

If you don't like a single Frank Ocean song, you have no soul.If works for American Republicans.
In RWBY, every girl is Best Girl.that seems to be where the conservatives are taking all their lessons.
"If it failed for the USA, it'll work for us!"
also, Harper seems to want to start his own "war on drugs."

@Matt: Well, when the public isn't too informed about what Conservtaive polciies are and why they clash with most Canadians, that's when campaigning works.
If you don't like a single Frank Ocean song, you have no soul. The Tory crime bill? Yeah, it looks less like a well thought out attempt to make Canadian streets safer, and more like he's trying to ingratiate himself with the more conservative elements of the country, not to mention the Americans.

What's with the Tories' interest in following Republican tactics, anyway? I mean, can Harper benefit financially from his inevitable war on crime?
In RWBY, every girl is Best Girl.Meh, it'll please his conservative base. There isn't as much "strategy" in Canadian politics.
If you don't like a single Frank Ocean song, you have no soul.Does Harper want to make Canada into America II, at this rate?
In RWBY, every girl is Best Girl. Not quite.
If you don't like a single Frank Ocean song, you have no soul. He's like a generic Republican, if he was in America. How badly has he cracked down on the natives?
Well he just put a community under 3rd party management despite the fact that the Auditor General has repeatedly stated that it wastes money and does not help. He's just blaming the band council leaders for their inability to provide adequate housing, but the community gets 10k/year per capita when the average Canadian receives 25-30k per capita in government spending. It's my personal beef with subsequent Canadian governments never resolving the issue over a century and a half.
They are forcing the native community to pay the 3rd party consultant 1300/day.
Do you think that Harper'll get forced to resign?
By who? They'd have to drag him out kicking and screaming. I bet if the Governor General ever found him unfit to lead a government, he'd call it a coup and order in the army.
Share it so that people can get into this conversation, 'cause we're not the only ones who think like this.He isn't that bad.
If you don't like a single Frank Ocean song, you have no soul. You never know. He just might become as bad as Bush.
In RWBY, every girl is Best Girl.Is there a government in the Western Hemisphere that doesn't treat its native population like shit?
I am now known as Flyboy.
@inhope: 11, actually. It's enough.
As a Liberal, this was a horrible first election to be interested in.

Notice how the Marxist-Leninists have more votes then the Liberterians.
@Matt: Quite the oppostie - now that the Conservatives have power, they have the power to do conservative things that most Canadians won't actually like. And they'll be held accountable, and there is no "we're running with a minority here" excuse.
If the NDP gets a good leader they might win a minority next election. That will be fun.
