Mordin Solus - Times Square

Mordin dodged, but this time he didn't have the benefits of his kinetic barriers. His armour was heat-resistant, of course, but his skin was not.

He crashed to the ground, dropping his Locust to grab a container of medi-gel, and applied it to the burns he had acquired. He held himself up on his elbow as he tried push himself away from Greed and his gouts of fire.

His right hand, now free of the medi-gel container, went to his omnitool. Ice was ineffective, he was likely fireproof...

A small object quickly fabricated itself and fired off at Greed. If it touched him, it would deliver a paralytic shock to his nervous system.

That was, of course, if Greed had a nervous system.

Ross Dissent and Co - Near Rockerfeller

"For fuck's sake."

Ross leaped of the side of the building, hitting the ground in a roll. He vaulted over what cars lay in his way, and ran up the wall to avoid the dumpsters, before hitting the ground behind Sky and pulling his sword out.

He was quickly joined by the other three, one of whom also pulled his sword.

"Give up. We'll make it quick."
Sy Duir - Chrysler

"...The UN? The fucking UN? Oh great, so we're not at war with the US, we're at war with literally the entire planet. Literally the entire planet. Well, yeah, we don't have to care about Geneva anymore, because we have achieved MAXIMUM WAR CRIMINAL. There is no higher level of war criminal! The Rules and Articles of War are there for a reason, and that reason is to keep everyone from destroying the planet when they fight a war. We're now open to every weapon in the 'banned weapon' arsenal."

He sighed, and leaned on the table Fletcher lay on.

"I know we're the bad guys, but we at least could've been smart bad guys. Now, we're fucked."
Tesseract - On the Hudson

Tesseract stood beneath the ice bridge, outside of the range of the lights on the pier. Kirei had arrived, and made his moves, while Dio had called lightning from the heavens.

Just a few moments more. They would soon be distracted by Dio and Kirei, and then he could join the fight.

He would only have to sneak up on one or two, and shatter their skulls. Or the spines, or the ribs over their hearts.

That was all he had to do if he wanted to kill them quick.

But they weren't targets. They were enemies, people to be killed... but they were fighters. Warriors. People to test his metal against. In every fight he had been in since his arrival, his enemies had been far above what he had normally faced. The boy-god, the lizard-man, even Tombstone. They could destroy him in single blows, and he could not take the chance of allowing them one.

But with these new powers... he could hold back. He could enjoy this.

Estelle - Pier 92.

It appeared the enemy had wanted to talk to Hol Horse. That was fine. Let him talk, it meant she had time at least to shore up their defenses. She began casting another spell this one aimed at shielding the Seekers. Once it went off each one would have personal shield, an aura of defense that would at least take some of the damage.

But to make it worth anything she'd have to extend the casting time, pouring more mana than usual into it.

Lightning struck, no doubt a spell from the enemy. He hadn't noticed her yet, so why did she feel in oncoming sense of dread. It didn't matter, what mattered was getting this spell off. She had to quicken her pace. It was coming, whatever it was, was falling towards her and the moment it landed it'd be her end.

An eternity passed in span of a second.

She uttered the final syllable, and felt the mana fly from her body to surround her allies, a final gift to them. Maybe just maybe her own shield would cover her in time. Maybe it would be strong enough to repel the death blow.

She looked down, satified that she had completed her task. Why was her dress red? She had put on a white one before embarking on this crazy adventure, she was certain of it. So why was it red? The obvious answer was that it became red. Realization hit, everything went black, her one and only comfort was that she was gone before she had to face to coldness of the ground.

Sewers

-The Nerubians' strength begins to fail, the weaker ones dropping from the walls and ceiling or trying to scurry into darker shadows before Gavrill arrives.-

-The last of the runners hears a continuous splatter in the distance and struggles towards it. Soon the noise is revealed to be a viscous liquid cascading from high above onto the concrete, where a pinprick of light far above shows that the surface is nearly within its reach. The spiderling pushes himself under the fall despite its strong odor, different from the stench of the sewer, in the hopes of deterring the monster or at least hiding from it.-

-Yet something feels amiss to the Nerubian, a burning sensation slowly envelopping him from head to abdomen as the cataract splashes all around him.-

Chrysler Building

"Calm down, Sy."    Tatu said, suddenly spawning a cigarette holder, fiddling with it.    "If this world still had its protectors, then yes, you would have reason to fret. But they don't. With my help, even the weakest of the Overlords is still stronger than whatever this world has to throw against us."

Walking over to Sy's side, Tatu tapped his shoulder.    "Besides, I'm omniscient, remember? One of the many quirks of being a god. I can see the future. Within a month, 98% of the world's governments will have given in to your demands. Some will have been forcibly toppled, like the United States. Some will give up in exchange for the safety of their people. Agreements which you some of you will immediately disrespect- there's a rather funny scene between Teridax and the council of an European country, their screams are just hilarious."

"Look at the window, Sy."    Tatu pointed at the giant hole that Dio had left through.    "You see destruction, correct? I see the future. I see the streets, patrolled by your own forces, humans cowering in fear of your images. Do you know some of them will willfully give in to your command? Right now, a man is watching, in awe, footage of your attack on New York. In exactly thirteen days, he and his cult will commit a mass shooting in your honor. The only survivor will be the child of one of the cult members, named after Zeal."

Tatu chuckled.    "Yes, my Overlords. Victory is at hand. And there's nothing that can change that."

——

   "Menardi?"

The alchemist would hear Tatu's voice as he suddenly appeared behind her, red light emanating from the lines covering his body, illuminating a bit of the dark street. Smiling, he gently bowed to her, before taking her side.    "May I accompany you on this walk, my lady?"

Menardi - One Chase Manhattan Plaza

So, the financial district. A great collection of steel and glass towers, the cathedrals of wealth and capitalism. From her perch atop 28 Liberty, Menardi was in the midst of skyscrapers and glass façades, and somewhere in this maze of architecture and visions of wealth was a group of Seekers. Who were currently failing at making their immediate location clear to Menardi.

The Alchemist sighed and reached for another donut. The box of glazed goodies had been taken from a specialized store, and after a taste sample, she'd been so impressed with the incredibly sweet dessert that she'd turned the counter into solid gold as payment. Not that she deemed it likely that the owner of the shop would return to claim it, but it was the thought that counted in this case.

Menardi was thinking about contacting Teridax again to get a more precise location when a voice behind her threatened to make her choke on her donut. She turned around and found that the Nomad had come in person to the battlefield. She felt her cheeks blushing at having been caught snacking on duty, and bowed to Tatu.

"Lord Tatu, welcome to Manhattan. Do you want a donut?"

"A donut."    Tatu repeated, sitting besides Menardi.    "I don't believe I require food, but... thank you."    The god said, taking the donut and staring at it the same way one would stare at a bomb.    "How has the day been for you, Lady Menardi?"

"It's going very well," Menardi reported. "Soho is in flames, and by now I think the fire is spreading. I killed an enemy by the name of Icarax, and Ahriman's tzaangors took care of a squad of reinforcements. The Master is taking care of things up there, while I was on my way to back up Teridax here. I just, uh, stopped for a snack because I'm still recovering Psynergy after the fight."

"Yes, of course. Refueling your energies is very important."    Tatu narrowed his eyes, moving so that he could sit cross-legged.    "I remember leading my army to and from a battle. Sometimes we'd stop and rest in the middle of the trip. I distinctly remember banquets whenever we returned from a victory."

Tatu took a deep breath, letting the wind blow through his hair.    "It's been so long since I've stepped into the battlefield..."

For a moment, Menardi studied the Nomad before her. It was strange how sometimes he could feel so alien...and sometimes so very human. She wondered how much of one's personality remained as the years passed as an immortal godlike being.

"Will you be joining the fight personally?"

"That would be wholly unfair on our enemies, would it not?"    Tatu chuckled.    "Then again, fairness has no place on the battlefield. No... I won't be joining you. As much as I would have loved to fight by your side, this is your mission."

Menardi opened her mouth to ask the obvious question, but stopped herself. Instead she bit into her donut, and tried to make conversation.

"So...how's the battle at large going? Our opponents putting up a fight?"

"As expected, they are being easily and effortlessly destroyed."    Tatu said, finishing his donut calmly.    "Soon there will be nothing left and this city will be yours for the taking. The humans here will be your servants, the buildings your personal playground."

His eyes found themselves glancing at her shoulders.    "Does this prospect make you... happy?"

Menardi pondered this as she ate.

"I...don't know. I never been a big fan of slavery. I can't say I need them either. The buildings, on the other hand..."

She looked around, not immune to the charm of the glittering giant structures even on this night of battle. These wonders of architecture, engineering and science, built without a single thread of Alchemy.

"This world is filled with wonders, and I'd like to study them further."

Indeed, she felt like she had much to learn from this world.

"You don't have to just study them."

Tatu's hand suddenly found itself above Menardi's, as he looked down at her tenderly.    "You can owe it all. You can... experiment with it. Turn steel and stone into clay."

"It's all yours for the taking, Menardi."

Gavrill, Sewers

With a bellow of rage Gavrill caught up on the last spiderling in sight, wasting no time grabbing the hapless creature and lifting its struggling body to her mouth, snapping her jaws down with a sickening crunch. It was still coated in the burning pungent liquid, and after chewing for some time that particular detail managed to make its way through the red mist of insane fury currently enveloping Gavrill's mind, and she paused to look at the source.

Sky, now getting into more trouble than usual

"ACK!"

Sky felt the hit of Tira's sword on his helmet. He didn't know how she did it, but it did a major number on him that it sparked and made him tumble down onto the ground.

Dammit... The ranger felt weak when he tried to get up, but he had been hard that he felt like passing out. Don't wanna die here. Can't let my old man down.

The bullets hitting his SPD SWAT vest also sparked too from getting hit from gunfire, courtesy of her P90.

Dr. Eggman-Fashionably Late to the Chrysler Party

As the overlords situated in the Chrysler building continued talking, they'd soon be joined by Dr. Eggman. He strode into the room, tentacles trailing behind him, holding a glass of wine in his hand."I can see that I've arrived late to this little shin-dig." The good doctor swirled his wine for a moment before taking a sip, then said " Isn't that just typical."

"Oh well. There are much more important matters to attend to, I suppose." In a droll tone, he added, "This city won't demolish itself, if what I witnessed on the way here is any indication."

Dr. Eggman turned to "Actually, now that you're here, Tatu, I admit that I do have a burning question." And here Dr. Eggman threw a level glare at Tatu. "I don't mean to question your judgement, but why exactly did recruit someone as crazy and unstable as Tira?" He handed his wine glass off to one of his tentacles, freeing his arms up to gesticulate wildly. "That psychotic harlot tried to run me through with that ridiculous blade of hers not half-an-hour ago! And all because I was using some dumb birds to power my badniks! That girl's an unstable, scatterbrained psychopath, and her sense of anything even remotely resembling 'Teamwork' seems incredibly flimsy, at best. She's a danger not only to our enemies, but to us as well! So why bring in someone like her?"

Tira-Alleyway

Tira raised an eyebrow at the ranger as the bullets connected on the man, wondering why they were causing sparks to fly from the man's stupid looking suit. It'd done the same thing when she hit him with her blade as well, which was highly unusual. The new tactically oriented part of her mind warned her not to get too close to the man if she could help it, as she didn't know of the man had an electric suit that might shock her. With this in mind, Tira let her ring blade loop around her body, hanging off of one of her shoulders as she quickly reloaded the P90. Then, she pointed it at the man again, and started firing on him again.

Just shut up and die already!

Her shots were aimed at various points of his body, helmet, arms, legs, groin, anywhere that might have been a weak point, her goal being to drain whatever weird spark thing was blocking her shots or just to find a weak point to exploit so she could shred the man with her gun.

Sky, now going to be dead soon...

"Eat this!"

Knowing that his game was up, Sky quickly fired a couple of shots with his Deltamax Striker at Tira's P90 before he got shot several in the helmet, vest and leg protectors with a couple of wounds, both bullets passed through the right arm and the left leg.

He got knocked down again, this time for good when he topped a couple of trash cans behind him.

Dammit... Can't move.

The SPD ranger knew his game was up. He wanted to fight on, but his body wasn't responding at all. In fact, his body was starting to go lifeless until he can only move his fingers for a few seconds.

Sorry guys... Don't know if I can make it.

Ross Dissent, Pat Hunter and Co. - Alleyways honestly it's probably closer to Times Square at this point

The mercs flattened themselves against the walls and the ground as Tira fired, wary of missed shots and overpenetration. The got back up once she finished shooting, and took in the sight of the injured Power Ranger.

"Pat, do him in, will ya?"

One of the mercs, the other who had drawn his sword, moved towards Sky's prone form, keeping out of immediate range of whatever kicks or punches the police officer could throw.

"Looks like you're shit outta luck, mate."

He raised his hand at Sky, fingers splayed, and his palm lit up for a moment before a thick beam of energy shot from it. This magical energy was strong enough to carve deep furrows into concrete, and good thick hole in someone's chest was usually enough to kill them.

Sy Duir - Chrysler

Sy stared at Tatu as he spoke, talking of them being immune to whatever the Earth could throw at them, 98% of world surrendering, shit like that.

It really was shit, wasn't it? Last time he checked, a good rocket launcher could kill Tesseract. Hell, that Vaas one certainly wasn't bulletproof.

But he didn't say anything. As much as he could piss off the other people here, you should never piss off the employer.

Then Eggman walked in and complained about Tira. Although he had a couple points, the tone of smug superiority was just too much.

"Does anyone here use any semblance of teamwork? Desco and Chase were talking to the heroes down at Battery Park, then the Daleks burst in and started firing. Teridax has been flying solo. Greed hasn't said a word to anyone else in Times' Square. Medusa has her plants in Central Park, Menardi got no help from the Master in her fight, I have no idea what the hell the bug guy is doing anymore, we haven't seen you, Eggman, for the entire fight... Even the most coordinated group of you General people, the guys who are down at Pier 92? The plan is Dio and Kirei attacking them, and then Tesseract coming in later. Literally, the entire plan. Hell, Kirei may have fucked that plan by jumping straight into the middle, so anyone between him and Dio will see Tesseract coming if they decide to look at Kirei instead of Dio."

He sighed, and looked back over at Fletcher and Maria. At least their team came in with a plan.

"You're not a team, you're a loose collection of people who've all been given the same goal and are working individually towards it."

Tira-The apparently near Times Square alleyway

Tira was prepared in the event that the ranger fired an attack at her. She was not, however, prepared to dodge an attack on her new gun, and thus, while she twisted out of the way of shots aimed directly at her, the gun itself was not as lucky. Said gun was now rather broken and inoperable.

Aww! Tira said when she saw the gun broken. I had started liking that thingy too! why'd you have to go and break it, you big meany? But as she looked back at the ranger, she saw the other guys walk up and say something to him. She didn't catch whatever it was, as an idea suddenly came to her. she had been trying to think up where she might get another one of these gun things, and Deathstroke's memory's had responded with some interesting information. Apparently this guy had maintained hideouts in a lot of the major cites around the world, places he had stocked with weapons and gadgets in the even he needed them for a job. There were a few in New York. All she had to do was swing by one of them and gear up.

But first, she had to make sure the blue guy died. She saw the weird laser thing descending, and she watched, waiting to see the man die, and also ready to attack with her own blade if it turned out these guys were stupider then she thought and they screwed up the execution.

Menardi - The Hand of a God

Menardi was silent for a short while, thinking. Hesitating. Her doubts, forgotten during the fight with Icarax, had resurfaced. Once again she caught herself assessing her choices and the path she was walking down.

Menardi was an Adept. A warrior and soldier with a mission. At one point she'd considered herself a hero, a saviour of the world. But there was no denying she'd done terrible things long before she was saved from the grasp of the reaper by Tatu's hand. She'd killed people, innocents. She had kidnapped and held ransom innocents. All for the sake of the world...but she had never questioned it.

Until she stood there on the rooftop, raining fire down on the city. It had come so...naturally. Tatu had just ordered them to destroy the city. He had never said how. And Menardi had simply drawn from the most destructive power of all, all for the sake of a promise of power and position. And when the napalm set the homes and workplaces alight...

...

...it had felt so good!

It was not sadism, nor the cruelty. It was the freedom, the rush of being the person calling the shots at last. When Tatu had whisked her away to command his armies, she had dreamt of escaping the chains of fate. Now the chains were off, and she held literally in the palm of her hand the power to decide the fates of thousands...millions!

Menardi was not stupid, and above all an Adept learnt to control their emotions, since it could interfere with concentration. So, she had used this snack break to think this through, properly and calmly. And she had decided.

Her eyes met Tatu's, and she smiled.

"I'd be delighted to."

Sewers

Wall street

As the trio is surviving seekers prepared to escape Wall street through the sewage system, they would feel the psychic presence of Teridax like pins and needles. The Makuta was searching, dedicating all his concentration to their capture. His mind roved over the ruined landscape like a giant spotlight- piercing the haze and gloom. The dust was settling and a rising breeze was blowing what was left away.

Yet they were unaware of this. Foolishly, Armani rambled on as the seconds ticked by. They hesitated even as Sam urged them on into their escape route. They tarried, unwilling to enter the filthy drains, Nitori's fear and anxiety along with Armani's cool anger staining the air like blood in the water.

It didn't take a very skilled shark to seek them out. Yet Teridax was cautious, he knew he was hot on their trails but their exact location was hazy, shrouded as if by fog. Fear was a wispy thing that when not actively stimulated drifted off into the wind like pollen. Meanwhile, Armani's anger was cooling; that coupled with his existing mental barrier served to dampen his trail even further. Perhaps they had split up?

Teridax blinked and stepped silently forwards, shadow energy pooling at his feet, devouring any sound he might have caused. He was waiting for his beacon...well, not so much a beacon as a mind he once controlled. When the normal human was offline, the brain waves their minds emitted were focused inwards, giving off next to zero indication that they even are there. In this state, the human mind was at it's weakest but also at it's most undetectable. Teridax could not help by grudgingly admit that it was a trade off good enough to give him a hard time.

His brows furrowed ever so slightly in annoyance. Where was Davros when he could actually be of use? A useless wreck of muscle if he ever knew one.

It was at this moment that Jinta chose to wake up. With a gasp he plunged back into the real world. Dazed as he was, he knew he was with Armani what with the air faintly glowing around them.

"Where?"

Teridax was suddenly aware of them, his mind, stretched to the limit in his search for the seekers, snapped towards sudden mental disturbance like a steel trap.

When humans wake up, there is always a moment in between consciousness and unconsciousness where their minds are full of fear. It is in this transition phase that people claim to see ghosts, hallucinate and fill their brains with irrational terror. On second was enough.

Armani at wallstreetishstreet?, feeling spooped about something

-Ω-

The night was the time of the hunt. It was when the predators came out, to track that which was asleep or too stupid to find shelter. To stalk, to hunt the hunter and prey alike. When darkness fell, that was when the kingdom of beasts awoke. It was a world I particularly knew well. Hades's breath, call me the prince of it, if one is feeling so pompous. Standing beneath the winking stars, the hunters moon at my back, listening to the song of the hunt play through my ears and feeling it blissfully envelop my heart and mind as all throughout the forest, the dance of life and death that was as old as life itself would begin around me.

Normally, I would lead this call of the wild myself. There were few under the moon's light that could hunt me — and it was usually the thrill of a lifetime when they tried. It was a beautiful, primal feeling that I could find no where else in life, and I knew that I was not meant to. I was raised to be and am civilized, rational...but at heart, I would always be the hunter in the dark, who craved the sound of dying roars and whimpers alike. The night was beautiful, but also tended to be full of terrors. For the beasts that went bump in the forest, I was that terror incarnate. And as for the things in my world that could hunt me in turn? I would always snort, roll my eyes, and inwardly get excited at their approach.

That was no longer the case here. Here, the murky blackness of night seemed to glower maliciously above our heads, their intentions unknown and inhuman.

Something was wrong. I could feel it. There was a buzzing in my ears, a pressure behind my skull, and the somewhat dull drone of the wild in my ears took on the faintest beat of urgency. My Instincts knew that something was off.

Where had this feeling come from? It was like it had just appeared out of the blue a second ago.

I barely noticed as the smell of sewage — than zeus for THAT, otherwise I think I would have sworn, vomited, then fainted in the opposite direction (and hopefully in that order) — as Sam pried open that door to tartarus. I was busy scanning our surroundings instead. What was Teridax doing now? Icarax said he could do some nifty things with that mask involving mentalism. Was he slipping something under Apollo's song right now? I'd had it playing ever since we first encountered the metal abomination, but I guess something could have slipped my notice.

"Guys..." I said uncertainly, hesitating before I shrugged away from Sam. I gave him a steady look, putting my hands up diplomatically. I didn't exactly want him thinking I was about to go get myself killed like he thought I was doing a few seconds ago. Any more demeaning shoulder lifts and I don't think my self confidence would ever recover.

"Look. How do we know Teridax isn't tracking us? If he manages to surprise us again, we might as well sign our death warrants right then and there. I'll stay behind for about one minute and make sure no one follows. If they do, I'll throw them off the trail and escape into a different manhole and meet up with you later."

Call it sudden paranoia — this feeling creeping up the back of my mind wasn't helping at all — but somehow I doubted things were going to go smoothly. "If there's heat coming, I'll keep it off you. Run and don't look back, I'll circle around."

I tapped my linkpearl and hopped backwards so he didn't lurch and grab me again. "Not budging on this one Sam. I won't be having us escape from the oven just to get shot in the back. At least let me cover the retreat."

I turned and went to find an alley to cloak sneakily into.

The stygian blade? ...Better to leave it with the samurai who had the least chance of capture.

So uh, turns out there was someone just a block away that wasn't even Teridax. Guess the coward called for help. Get out here and try facing us actually face to face you freaking — calm, I am calm. Zen in fact.So zen that I pictured myself running the tin man through and it only gave me a MILD sense of satisfaction. Anyway, it was a good thing I was cloaked.

I grit my teeth after I heard her — was a woman, by the sounds of it, definitely an adult — on top of a building nearby. The LAST thing I needed to deal with was two of these people! She didn't seem to be actively tracking us, but if Teridax was, she would probably soon join him. I'd have to distract and outrun two frekkin members of the grim team at once? No thank you.

I sidled up to the wall of a building on the corner of the street, then — making sure my new cloaky...thingy was working and discovering that I did indeed like I was partially melting into the brick...a very weird sight, ew — glanced around the corner and up towards the source.

A tall blonde woman in what looked like intricately crafted armor was standing near the edge, as if she had been on the lookout only a moment earlier. She was obviously confident, standing right in plain site. I couldn't help but wonder if any of these people knew what in the world SUBTLETY was. The fact the armor had exquisite paintings on it didn't help either. The bottom half was just a skirt for pete's sake — I couldn't really tell where the silk ended and where the armor started, the carvings and colourings making it hard to tell. Bosom and up was definitely armored at least, so no heart shots.

She didn't look all THAT dangerous...and yet that feeling grew worse in my head as I stared up at her.

That bizarre, ominous noise in the song of nature grew into a nearly unbearable racket pretty much as soon as I looked up at her. A cascade of fear rushed over me. Internally, something screamed, a mad feral response. I jerked my head back and instinctively covered my ears — doubt that did much, but breaking line of sight dimmed the feeling. What in hades's black hearth WAS she? She was...talking to herself? No, on intercom? Probably?

I reopened my eyes and found they were stinging. I wiped my brow. I was sweating, and my heart was racing, like I had just stared down an angry Artemis before she knew she was my mother.

I stared down at my hands. I was afraid, and for gods sake I didn't even know what of.

~''Leave. Do it now!'~ I winced, she felt like she was about to take my mind over herself.

I swallowed and shook my head. No, not until I know Teridax won't be chasing them

~Armani, this threat~

The hair was standing on the back of my neck

I can't run yet. I won't abandon them, or anyone else. I took a shaking breath and grit my teeth, banishing the feeling. I stood there for several seconds and waited...

...then, the wind blew from the south of me. A very familiar scent hit me, strongly. Teridax was right around the corner. Or above it.

Of course he had tracked us. Was it Jinta? Did our very shadows give us away, could a shadowmancer do that? Or magic? I don't know, but he was about to be right on top of the sewer entrance the others had crawled into, I could feel it in my bones.

It had barely been 10 seconds since they had closed the manhole. Would that have been enough time to get a distance away? Terrison would rip Sam apart with his own arm otherwise. The poor kid he was dragging along would be like everyone else in that gods forsaken wall street tower, except he might not even get the luxury of a quick death if Terry was in a foul mood.

No way, I had a job to do. He wasn't going to follow them — I'd make him come after me first. I'd run, shoot, maybe even fight if things went well. I knew EXACTLY where to run to once I had his attention.

But SHE had to go. I couldn't escape both of them at once. Teridax could sick her on me while he killed the rest. Or double team me.

~It's not her, you aren't getting it~

I glanced back around the corner. She was smiling about something.

~We cannot fight this~

One shot, and she couldn't pursue

The shaking was back. I couldn't think. This was beyond obnoxious. It was a rational plan; it was the only option that had a chance of getting us all out alive. I snorted. That woman had an impressive magical aura, to cause people nearby to feel like this. At least that's what I hoped the explanation was.

~You reveal yourself and you might not be able to even run~

I won't let him pursue them, I don't care what happens. Be ready to take him on.

~Let's pray that your plan for him works and that whatever is generating this threatening aura decides to merely be a magical trick~

I was out of time, and she turned her back to me again. I shoved back this strange fear, and I notched an arrow. I pulled it back much harder than I did with Teridax earlier, since it was a single shot — it flew quite a bit faster than sound.

~If not, then we are about to have a lot bigger problems than that monstrosity. Bigger than anything I've ever detected by a long shot~
