Pretty much.
What he said.
BTW, I fucking hate nostalgia! But I fucking hate seeing new generation efforts from real artists being ignored like this just so some company can continue to chase some forgettable fad/ make something that results in being nothing but some BS toy commercial/ relying on commitees instead of real artists WHO NEED AND DESERVE THE WORK!
Whoever is in charge of CN should have fired Snyder/Sorcher long before this noise came up as far as I'm concerned.
Like I really care, anyway! I'm just going to (do the right thing) ignore this, due to how sad the premise sounds...
Just as long as it doesn't replace any GOOD shows on this channel, I definitely can't say I care - but I'm concerned that CN is so desperate to undermine their channel just to make live-action feel accepted that they're making BS moves like this - that's unacceptably criminal if that's what's really happening here... And with how the current leadership there thinks cartoon/anime are four-letter words to them (because they're so desperate to be like 2 certainchannels not worth naming, nor worth being like), I'm not surprised by this!

This is where I, the Vampire Mistress, proudly reside: http://liberal.nationstates.net/nation=nova_nacioDude, do you realize how many "BS Toy Commercials" were made by "REAL ARTISTS?" Transformers, case in point.

Let's make a TCG!The Problem is... A majority of them were just that (especially in the 70's and 80's) - BS.
And you seem like you got a smart head on your shoulders - you're the last person I want to argue with on this...
Just somewhere down the line, whether this does well or not (as preferred to a lot of people around here; I really couldn't care less), I'd like to see CN prove it's leadership has more intelligence than this and if they're willing to go after new shows, go after something that isn't going to become some forgettable internet fad in a couple of months, if not years (it'll be years if it's luck enough).
Or maybe I'm just putting too much stock into this and I should go back to ignoring this show and staying that way when it premieres. Either way - it's a damn shame I'm concerned now, seeing as this could hurt CN's already bad reputation even more.

This is where I, the Vampire Mistress, proudly reside: http://liberal.nationstates.net/nation=nova_nacioCommercials are art to, just watch the HTC "You" ads. What's really 'BS" is this asinine dichotomy that's infected the art world that any hint of profit somehow "stains" the "True Art.' FUCK THAT! All Star Superman was awesome and it sold like hotcakes. The entirety of the Transformers franchise is devoted to selling toys and they've had a decade and a half media franchise. Man Of Action has made BILLIONS in toys sales from their work and yet they still have really good shows. Just because something was made with profit in mind doesn’t mean it’s not good. News flash, EVERYTHING is made with profit in mind even This SITE! I'm not going to turn my nose and poo-poo at this because CN saw a way to get some cash out of the Internet market (a sector that NEEDS more interaction with the "mainstream") and I'm sure as hell not upset that the independent writers and producers that made the webshow (you know, the kind of Starving artists your kind go nuts for) are actually getting a big break. Or would you just call them sell outs?
Let's make a TCG!No - especially if they need the work. I wouldn't call these people sellouts.
Like I said, I was trying to avoid an argument like this because "for profit" IS the existence of mainstream media itself. The problem is better ideas than THIS have been done "for profit", or better yet, to get a starving artist into the business so he/she can actually get somewhere IRL, besides the starting gate that is Youtube.
If CN's going to rely on this market like they did for Adventure Time for example of doing it right, they need to keep searching in the future and not just rely on what's been seen as a one-joke fad, don't you think?
This is where I, the Vampire Mistress, proudly reside: http://liberal.nationstates.net/nation=nova_nacioI know nothing of TAO but if it's gotten this far it must have some kind of staying power. Not like YGO Abridged which is so wrapped up in it's own celebrity that at this point it's calcified into a pit of memes, con visits, and pop culture abuse. (God I hate secondary media.)
Let's make a TCG!And instead of bringing Tiny Toon Adventures and Animaniacs back like they should, they do stuff like this...
YGO is still getting hundreds of views within the first few days of every single video, and unlike everything else I've seen, they're STILL funny. They might be wrapped up in their own celebrity, but they're one of the few who actually deserve it.
Rights would be too complicated. They would need to get Spielberg's permission and he's set up shop at Disney.
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/Argh. I just want the damn shows back.

Disney would never use the Looney Tunes characters for anything.
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/Then why is Spielberg there anyways?
He has a distribution deal with them. After Bernie Madoff stole some of his money and his deal with Paramount ended, he needed new production and distribution partners for his movies. He got ones in Disney and Reliance Big Pictures. Reliance helps produce the films and Disney helps distribute them.
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/Well, darn. Can't CN get the rights for Tiny Toon Adventures and Animaniacs from WB (Since they technically own them), or does it have to be specifically from Spielberg?
For reruns, Cartoon Network could air them (I believe Nickelodeon's rights have lapsed). For new episodes, they would have to ask Spielberg.
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/That's what I meant, reruns. Although a spinoff starring Fifi would probably be good.
You'be better off looking for DV Ds of these shows (if you can afford them)(...Or pirating episodes from sites that do that to cartoons - as much as I'd love to to help you get your fix (for free), though, I don't really advocate it.).
This is where I, the Vampire Mistress, proudly reside: http://liberal.nationstates.net/nation=nova_nacioI heard Malcolm Mcdowell is signed onto the voice cast.
"Hey Alex, Alex, hey!" - The Annoying Clockwork Orange
Magic people, voodoo people!Even then only season 1 of Tiny Toon Adventures has been released, and there has been no word on when 2 & 3 will be released.
Well, Looney Tunes did air on ABC in the late 90s.
Magic people, voodoo people! That was part of an earlier deal before Disney bought ABC.
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/And they are reairing the original Looney Tunes on CN, but not Tiny Toon Adventures for some reason.
What's the point of Toonami in general? I'll never understand why so many people on the internet are so obsessed with seeing the return of a series of commercials featuring some robot.
But I digress.
