We all know that they made Rip van Winkle's death in Episode 4 less rape-y, right? Well, I just watched that episode and there's something else that they toned way down: Alucard. Alucard is terrifying in that episode at several points and it never really has anything to do with what he's doing to Rip van Winkle.
Like, Alucard was supposed to be a Complete Monster from the beginning, someone who's only a "good guy" because of his master, but that episode really made me realize that. It's really something that canon!Alucard is arguably more of a Complete Monster than abridged!Alucard.
Also, I'm continually amazed by how many of the lines from the abridged version are just slightly altered lines from canon.

If you recall, Integra is currently surrounded by members of Iscariot. While TFS skipped over her leaning against a wall and looking bored/annoyed while they killed the Nazi vampires, Volume VI opens with them trying to take her prisoner and her simply giving no fucks. Heikel then puts a gun to her head only for her to demand that Heikel light her cigar. Integra then forces Heikel to comply with nothing but sheer force of will. It ends with Heikel and Iscariot Mooks trembling while Anderson orders them to escort Integra back to Hellsing HQ.
