Eh, I say Keep Until Better Image Suggested, just strictly because of how universal Mario is.
While a picture of the Trope Namer has a higher risk of being JAFAAC, in this case I'd agree with "keep until better" because of the trope's definition (a character is so iconic that nobody else gets the same name unless it's a Shout-Out).
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.I dunno, is there such as thing as a Self Demonstrating Face And A Caption? If anything can picture this, it would be the current pic and maybe a tweaked caption ("Come on. Try thinking of another famous Mario.")
...and if you don't buy that argument, then we're probably talking unpicturable.
I agree with your opinion, but cooking fans would probably respond to that caption with Mario Batali. And I don't even watch that show anymore (then again, I don't really have a TV anymore. I could, probably, but I haven't bothered setting it up.))

"Only now, after being besieged by a flock of talking ponies, did he really understand what he'd lost. "Something tells me the likelihood of people connecting video game!Mario with Mario Batali are really slim.

It took me about 7 seconds, but my mind works in mysterious ways. Objection sustained.
"Only now, after being besieged by a flock of talking ponies, did he really understand what he'd lost. "Ok, fictional video game character. (There was an Iron Chef America game released for the Wii...)
Hang on, you didn't mention "video game" last time you presented the argument; don't sell it short!
That too. Your clever wordplay has made me laugh.

"Only now, after being besieged by a flock of talking ponies, did he really understand what he'd lost. "^^ Mario is not a character from a fictional videogame.
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.We could always go with the page quote... A screenshot of Assassins Creed 2 with the subtitles on.
Since about a few months ago whenever I hear "Mario" I picture this guy.
But yeah, Keep Until Better Image Suggested on this one. I like it in its simplicity.
P.S. That's not a suggestion by the way. Just in case someone bursts with rage over it.

The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman.Sure, but it's a little too simplistic, and TV Tropes is the wrong place for that.
Catch me where? See my profile!Well, many voted Keep Until Better Image Suggested, so you're still free to suggest replacements, or even ideas.
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman.Considering that Mario is probably the single most well-known video game character of all time, I think we can leave him for now.
Reaction Image RepositoryAlso, the picture seems inextricably linked with the current name of the trope. It gets a pass the same way The Ditz does in his trope page.

Get a slant at this glossary of Pulp Detective terms. It rates. Pipe that?Umm... what is Keep Until Better Image Suggested?
Keep Until Better Image Suggestion.
I noted "Keep Until Better Image Suggested" under the list of Predefined Messages rather recently.
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.Clock is set.
"I dunno, is there such as thing as a Self Demonstrating Face And A Caption?"
Yeah: Jesus, Darth Vader, Robin Hood, Mickey Mouse...
Is Mario universally known? Enh, not really. Kind of. Enough to not be removed without replacement.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. The clock's up, and the general consensus is Keep Until Better Image Suggested. Locking up.
Do I get that this trope is about one name being too famous for anybody to use? Nope. We gotta pull it.
