Slightly interested in this. Will probably pick it up once my next paycheck rolls in.
I've seen the original on You Tube; looks like one of the least-subtle clones ever, and the new one doesn't appear to be much of an improvement... if that's a problem. I mean, just because you're toeing the edge of copyright laws doesn't mean your game is bad.
I'd play it just for the music. Listen to that!
Looked elsewhere on the Neogaf thread to see where people had bought legit copies. It's apparently available on walmart.com , though when I looked, there was an entry with no picture. It's listed on amazon.com , but currently unavailable. I checked a few other retail sites, with no success.
The last time I had any trouble finding an DS game with an official release was Cheer We Go. Even limited-run items from Atlus and Sega were easier to find.
Interesting...
I know the original Commodore64 version was made because they tried to acquire the rights to Super Mario Bros and port it, but Nintendo refused, and as a result, they made a rather blatant rip-off...
I might see if this is worth picking up, but right now I'm currently saving ups for some 3DS games like Cave Story 3D, so probably not.
It seems redundant to make another Giana thread so I'll just hijack this one.
Twisted Dreams is a nice platformer. I wish Giana's model looked better, but it's good for what it is. I know the series has been picking up lately. They have a few spinoffs already.
The US version is out and I have a copy. Thanks to GAF for this heads up.
I think we should start a new trope if Xenoblade and The Last Story do make it stateside. It should be called "Late Export for You".
In case you don't know who The Great Giana Sisters are, essentially Distaff Counterpart of classic Super Mario Bros. They were once sued by Nintendo themselves and copies of the game pulled from shelves.
