Hold up, weren't these RP Gs already released? Or was that just the PAL store?
Against all tyrants.Gig, let us unite our factions under the banner of the Atlus Empire.
You are not alone, and you are not strange. You are you, and everyone has damage. Be the better person.@Desertopa: thats kind of my point. And kind of the point of chrono cross. So muvch of chrono's qurest is so paradoxical in nature that it kind of results in the Plotline of CC. Almost all the lategame content of CC is based around the various paradoxes. The Terra Tower is from a world denied by the destruction of the Reptite Empire, Time Devourer is whats left of Lavos and Schala fused together in the nothingness of the darkness where time doesnt exist, etc)
NINTENDO FANS! TO ME! TO ME!
I was wondering why frisbees got bigger as they got closer then it hit me.But I like both SMT and Nintendo!
Alt account of Angeldog 2437.I think that Cross's story would have been effective if it were only what you were describing, midgetsnowman. Problem is it feels the need to tell a completely new, unrelated story on top of dealing with the loose ends, and puts that story front and centre, instead of placing those loose ends in a more prominent position. As such, all references to the previous game feel incidental, even though they're largely integral to the plot.
You could have still gotten good mileage out of the game, but the exposition is so poor (even for a JRPG) that the good elements the game has are squandered by bad presentation. That said, I think there's a good idea at the game's heart: what if the characters from the first game were eliminated in the same way they tried to eliminate Lavos? What the sequel's heroes had to sacrifice themselves and their home in order to reinstate the happy-ish ending of the first game?
Which, I think is what they were going for, given the number of role reversals the game has both within itself and in comparison to Trigger. It's a good idea, but badly told.
This post has been powered by avenging fury and a balanced diet.@MSM I never finished Cross so I don't know the details, but I think what you're talking about isn't paradoxes so much as deleted timelines due changes from time travel. All deleted timelines get sent to the Darkness Beyond Time. This is where Lavos fused with Schala to make the Time Devourer. It really has nothing to do with paradoxes per say.
Yeah...with something like Final Fantasy where pretty much every game is loved by many and hated by many, simply asking if one is good tends to be rather unhelpful.

Welcome to th:|Whoops! Guess I should've put in my opinion, because that's exactly what it was.
Sign me up for the ATLUS army.
But regarding the FF games, it really just depends on what type of game you like. For example, if you like poorly written characters, horrible gameplay and terrible plots you will play -Insert Hated Final Fantasy here-

In our heart, Mr. Ando will always be a penguin. But the plotline of Chrono Cross is also paradoxical, or at least highly inconsistent. If you're going to going to base a game on a defiance of Bellisario's Maxim, examining closely something that was never meant to be examined closely in the first place, I would think the last thing you want is a followup that doesn't bear close examination.
...eventually, we will reach a maximum entropy state where nobody has their own socks or underwear, or knows who to ask to get them back.In recent years, I think the only companies who've made JRP Gs I've enjoyed are Atlus and Namco-Bandai. I haven't really enjoyed a new Final Fantasy since X. . .

One of my few regrets about being born female is the inability to grow a handlebar mustache. -LandstanderGuys, what side should I be on?
Alt account of Angeldog 2437.Nippon Ichi Militia NEEDS you!!!!, join us, we have cake, and this time is not a lie
http://steamcommunity.com/id/Xan-Xan/I was very happy to see this news on here today. I loved FF V and VI, in my opinion, niether was really outdone until Xenoblade chronicles came out this year.
V had the job system, which just lets you break the game in the most extaordinary and fun ways, and VI had a compelling cast of likable characters, and was the first time I actually cared what happend to a group in an RPG, as such it holds a welcome place in my gaming history.
Did they fix the save bug in FFV?
Because they're Final Fantasy fans and that is all they know how to do.
