One would assume that it helps you if you take command in the Battle Map.

Really, most of this tech is from Tabletop, it shouldn't be that hard.

I've never played tabletop, but I have no idea what half the stuff would do once they modify it for not-minis-on-a-table

I keep looking things up, though. I've got a mental compulsion to research, it'd be hard not to :)

Command console gives you some ability to coordinate the team. If they listen.

Yeah, not a good idea to go full-throttle at times. Did you get the "Anchor Turn" efficiency?

full basic efficiencies.

with the stock engine it worked fine, It's just gettign used to my higher speed now. I'm sure I'll get the hang of it, we'll see if I need to drop more armor to slap onto my jenner another set of medium lasers, rather than my 2 light, 2 mediums.

It's rather amusing that a clunky old Hunchback of all things has the largest number of energy hardpoints in the game (last I checked). Even more amusing to have most of them in a single body part.

they only have... 50% more hardpoints than a jenner :)

Not saying that the Hunchback has a particularly large number of hardpoints but the model is primarily known for its stonking great AC 20 so the possibility of having nine medium lasers on it is just odd (moreso with six in the right torso alone). That's more than the 'energy Jenner' can mount but Jenners are usually made into Streak boats anyway.

Hunchbacks loaded with lasers have the Fan Nickname of "Swayback." Truthfully I don't know how that came to be, but I do know that well-built Swaybacks are quite a menace. Nothing but Small and/or Medium Lasers so the pilot doesn't have to worry about ammo, which means he can mount a faster engine and pile on Heat Sinks. Very powerful if you know how to manage your heat.

Can't fit quite that many on an IS medium.

I'm not sure to what you're referring. The cicada? I'm not sure, it's fast and has decent firepower.

But it's small, it's cheap, it deals with non-Mech targets well.

You mean in the tabletop/other games? The Flea isn't playable in this game yet.

Five SRM-6. Three Large Lasers. Two Medium Lasers.

Hilarity. You can actually see people flinch when you hit them with the SRMs.

@Pyro: According to Sarna, "Swayback" comes from its torso being less huge.

I do wish they'd tell you were hardpoints are. Why the hell does the Dragon have 3 ballistic hardpoints in the same arm?

^^Honestly, that's not the problem I have, the problem is that ECM is legit overpowered.

Well, SSR Ms were overpowered from day one as a holdover from the tabletop (after being hit or miss in the previous MW games). I wonder if it's a similar case for ECM being overpowered or if they were trying to counteract the tendency for matches to turn into steel rain (LR Ms with FCS).

so rocket dude, you'd be upset if you went against an 8 man premade in ECM ravens and commandos?
