I think she just happens to have a lot of athletic ability and is half american. No connection said between the two.

Her being half-American is rather the explanation for why she's connected to the new gang in town.

In Japan, all Westerners are blond. This is common sense.

I know a blond Italian. Now being a Mafia family makes it less probable since they are mostly from the south and the Italians that have fairer skin and hair are from the northern part of Italy, but this is anime does hair color really indicate ethnicity?

Chapter 2 Question.

I thought the upper-right panel on page 12 was one face. It looked funny.

They would have killed them if they had already kissed? That's insane.

Remember, they're the Yakuza and a gang. We probably won't understand he logic. That, and Japan considers one's first kiss to be really important.

They're sill just re-treading the ground covered by the oneshot, just with the new setup. :/

Hmmm, well, I just saw the new My Little Pony after a really long day of working on college assignments, so I'm in a terribly good mood. I'm going to give this a pass.

Except that last panel. Goddammit, can't this author guy keep a secret for just a chapter?

Also, yeah, nothing but retreading the one-shot, but at least it felt a little less hectic/desperate for attention as the first chapter.

I agree. The oneshot was really "busy" - I like that Komi's taking a bit of a slower pace here.

Well, like what's already been said...Things are still in the middle of being set up. Not much to say. (Though if I judge by Double Arts, Komi's set-ups give birth to interesting plot threads. So I'll be optimistic.)

Next chapter will probably retread some of the same ground as the oneshot for the date...And after that, since they haven't known each other for most of their lives in this version, I assume the plot will diverge from the oneshot and go in its own direction.

Chapter Three First

Well, I guess that wasn't terrible. Bland, certainly, but not terrible.

Ah, well, got plenty of free time. Let's see where it goes.

It's like he was deliberately trying to make that chapter generic and obvious. Even the "twist" at the end was made obvious by the end of chapter 2.

I think I'd enjoy this more if they were better at acting. This is a scenario where a little subtlety might go a long way.

I'm troubled...I really want to like this series, but it's just so stereotypical...I can't feel any real potential in it. It's possible it could get better from here...But...

Well, whatever, it's not actively bad. I'll keep reading for a while longer, see how things go.
