Eh its rarely Persona... I just suggest something I have usually the most glaring example that comes to mind. (lately its been Pretty Cure stuff due to the topics that have come up)
This one came up in the anime tropes thread and I did look for other examples Ranma when Kuno gave her flowers (the manga the view sucked and I didnt dig out my ranma DV Ds), Sailor Moon's signature crying move (GIS failed me on that and I do not have the show.). Those two series did do this though, Negima did this and it is a better example with tears, but shitty scan quality
