I didn't even remember that scene being in it until it was mentioned, and I've seen it three or four times. Maybe I'm just jaded.

I haven't seen it at all, nor heard anyone bring up the scene.

Again, that's why this isn't an objective trope.

Which has no effect at all on image pickin' standards. The actual point of the trope is "everybody remembers". That isn't even close.

[up]1. About a few of you doesn't disprove "everyone", unless you are insisting that term is literal, which is not a valid point with a YMMV trope.

2. The "everyone" part should not be in a YMMV trope. That is an invalid part of the description, and tries to force an impossible to determine standard.

That is copy-pasted from your post.

Well that was my goof to put it that way, as ymmv tropes really can't be applied to such a standard.

What I should have written is "when a viewer remembers that one part".

Yes. And a good image would say that, not depict an example of something some people remember from some show. And not a goof: you meant it should be an illustration, not an example, right? Agreed. That's really hard, though. I can't think of how to communicate such a complex idea. No image might be best.

I don't know what "unrealistic standard" you mean; I mean normal IP standards, which are completely unaffected by the trope being subjective.

[up]I thought you meant taking "everyone" literally. If not, then a good picture would be showing one or two people only remembering the fanservice part of a work.

Hm, that's a tough one. I'd rather have an image of that mouse on there than no pic at all, even though I have no idea who that mouse is supposed to be. Can we crowner this?

Crowner's hooked; no time to add anything beyond "no image" right now.

[up] Everybody remembers the movie for its nudity, because everything else in it is so utterly boring and forgettable.

[up] Well, it is better, because this shows it's a movie that is considered to have a lack of plot. The original pic was just some blurry girl in her underpants, which could be anything.

It's the only image in the crowner that actually implies the "this is the only thing in the movie that people remember".

All the other ones rely on being reognizable to get the point across.

I just thought the mouse one worked well because it shocks people to see a striptease in a kid's movie and is therefore prominent in people's memories about seeing The Great Mouse Detective, not because the rest of the movie was forgettable. It also fits because it has nothing at all to do with the rest of the movie. In fact, (not that one example proves anything, but) I know a guy who went out and saw this movie only after he found out about Miss Kitty Mouse.

[up]I think that would actually fit an objective trope better, about such a scene in a work for kids. I don't quite think we have that, as it's not quite Getting Crap Past the Radar in a general sense.

[up] I'm confused. How would it work better for an objective trope that everybody remembers the mouse stripper?

How much the element has to do with the movie doesn't matter.

Also re: fake movie poster, I know people who enjoyed it; "it'd be unwatchable without nudity" is Complaining About Shows You Dont Like.

[up] I hadn't thought about that, but now that I consider it, it does feel like that. Even for YMMV, it's not very nice.

I think all of the examples are awful, and it's actually better off imageless if this is the only ones we have.

The mouse doesn't make it clear that she is a minor character—if she is a major character, we wouldn't know. I actually don't think that it's obviously enough a memorable scene. I can't think of any kids or adults who remember it. So as it stands it's "we see a stripper at some point".

The poster isn't necessarily an example—if people watch it for the nudity and it's a big part of the movie, how is it an example?

Wasn't there a Steven Seagal film with a stripper? I though that was pretty much the example given the rest of the film was pretty forgettable. A picture of her would be good.

Update: the film is called Under Siege and the first we see of here could be used as an image it is fairly tame. Here's a video
