Survivors! Zombie Apocalypse RP

Seiko hesitated to accept the offer to enter Steven's room, mostly because of how it might look. Since Steven had a girlfriend it might look even worse than just a girl entering his room. At the same time there wasn't anyone watching, and they were just friends anyway. Her small small widened ever so slightly at being complimented though; it'd been a long time since that had happened.

"It.. too peaceful," she remarked as she took a seat on his bed, "Or maybe too use to being chased.." That was when she noticed a book nearby, which prompted another query, "What are you reading?"

"I doubt they've set up anything to do here," said Arnold to Sharon, "at least, not anything that doesn't involve shooting something or snorting drugs. Of course, we could always just look around. Maybe we'll find a board game, or something."

I think I saw a rec-room down the hall. We could go swimming, if the water still works. Sharon suggested. Then again, I don't know if they have any swim-suits around here.

Sharon wracked her brain. He did say boardgame - no, not Monopoly. Well, what about other games? It always seems like everyone has Scrabble, Jenga, chess, checkers, Monopoly - goddammit we are not playing that with him!

Well, it was one thing to think about it, another to do. She stepped over to the most likely candidate, the cupboard under the entertainment system. Sharon opened it up, and came face to face with that bright, red M.

Wanna play Monopoly? she typed, holding up the box, smiling weakly. She was so going to be single when this was done.

Arnold smiled and laughed a little at Sharon's offer. "Sure, let's play Monopoly. After all, I was the one who suggested we play a board game in the first place, and I suppose it's more mature than us playing Hungry Hungry Hippos, or something like that."

You sure? Whenever my family plays Monopoly, people get mad. she typed. Mostly at me.

She doubted Arnold would dump her over a board game, but if he was anything like her relatives... this wouldn't be pretty.

"How could anyone be mad at you over a board game?" asked Arnold. "Come on, let's play. I promise I won't be anything like your family members."

You'd be surprised...

Setting the box down on the table, Sharon considered one other thing. Think we should see if anyone else wants to play? She cast a waywards glance at the bikers. And by anyone else, I mean Seiko and Steven?

"Seiko and Steven?" Arnold raised an eyebrow as he said, "I guess we could get them to join in. After all, the two of us playing Monopoly hardly counts as a date or anything, and a two person game is kind of... you know, sad."

Steven smiled and pike up the book, pacing as he looked at it and spoke. "It's sort of like a guide about computers. Using them, putting them together, things like that." He grinned at her. "Just because te world is in turmoil doesn't mean I shouldn't be trying to learn and better myself. I figured this would be something useful to learn." He showed her the cover of the book, very straight-forward and to the point, almost definitely boring and informative.

Sharon nodded, and stepped over to Steven's room, greeting the two with a warm wave.

Arnold and I were about to play some Monopoly to pass the time. Wanna play?

Steven looked over at Sharon and shrugged. "I dunno...it sounds fun." He looked over at Seiko. "Would you like to? It would fill the time."

"It look like something I study in Japan for exams," Seiko observed as she discerned how dry and boring the book would likely be for her. That was one thing that, perversely, made the apocalypse not such a bad thing: she wouldn't have to deal with entrance exams any more. When Sharon came in and asked if they wanted to play a game, Seiko once again actually smiled and looked kind of pleased by such a trivial matter.

"I'd love to," she responded, letting herself forget about the whole end of the world thing for a moment.

Sharon smiled. Great!

"Well then," said Arnold, with a smile on his face, "Let's not waste anymore time! Then again, this board game is basically a time-waster, but whatever."

Steven grinned a bit. "Not really a time waster. More like a time investment. In a really odd way. But sure, let's play." He went with them out to wherever they were playing.

Seiko continued to smile, and looked even to herself to be a different person. She was happy to have something that would occupy her downtime. Getting readjusted to that kind of thing would take some effort.

"Where we play it?" she asked, assuming it would be in a location besides Steven's room.

Out in the kitchen. Sharon pointed. We've got it all set up.

Heading back to the table, Sharon took a seat. Dibs on the race car!

Seiko was the second to take a seat, trying at the same time to remember exactly how this game was played. It had been a while and she wanted to make sure she got the basic rules. Things like that hadn't been quite so important with the whole end of civilization thing going on. After taking a minute or so she recalled the basics and waited for everyone else to get settled in, let them have the first turns. That way she could observe them first and make sure her memory was correct.

"If the race car is taken, I guess I'll be the dog," Arnold said, sitting down next to Sharon. "So, I'm guessing you two were talking about something, while the two of you were in Steven's room... in a completely innocent way, of course! I'm just wondering what you guys were talking about before we interrupted you. Was it idle chit-chat, or something personal? If it's personal, I won't ask anything else."

Sharon sighed, and put a hand on his shoulder. Arnold honey, you've got your foot in your mouth again.

She picked up the dice, rolling them around in her hands. Okay, let's roll to see who goes first. Steven?

"Nothing, just books," Seiko shrugged, not getting defensive at all about the question. It wasn't like they'd been discussing romance or anything like that after all. She then realized that there had been something else to, "And my new clothes."

"Oh yeah," said Arnold, "I noticed the new clothes. I suppose the bikers have a lot of spare clothing lying around... or at least, I hope they do, because what I'm wearing right now is all I have."

Steven rolled his eyes and smiled. "Yeah just books and clothes." He looked at Seiko again. "And the whole police vest over it all really fits you. Like your own personal fashion twist." He giggled playfully then looked at the board. "I guess I'll be the hat. It's a nice hat." He picked up a die and rolled it. "I got a three."

"Need to be ready if monsters come," Seiko responded seriously when Steven noted her continued wearing of the police vest. She still had her carbine, though now it was leaned up against the table next to her chair. As she rolled the dice herself she remarked to Arnold, "Clothes yes.. underwear, no. They not have any.." and to change the subject she reported, "I have two.."

Arnold paused, embarrassed at Seiko's mention of underwear. Attempting to gather himself, he took the dice, and rolled it. "Hey, I got a four! Awesome!"
