Kurt groaned: "Well, looks like we're down one car... And two guys.", he said. "Did Astrid mention going somewhere?", he asked.

Tyra looked at Jeff and Sharon. "We got ammo for target practice all right: There's boxes in the attic. Get 9mm, though: Wastin' .45 or .357s for plinking ain't a good idea."

Steven shook his head a bit. "I don't think so...I don't remember her saying anything. But I was in here the whole time." He looked at Kurt and bit his lip. "Why would they go??" Unless they had some plan or just hated people here, what they did made little sense otherwise.

Tyra shook her head: "They just met. I donn't think they had any prior plans.". Kurt took a brief look in the attic. "They didn't take any of the supplies... Weird. Can't any of y'all think of anything those two might be up to?"

"People call me Rita. Used to be doctor Sforza, but doubt it'll matter now." Rita said, not battering an eyelid, while she drew closer to Cail. She had heard the engine in the park, but she would deal with that later on. Leaning on his ear, whispering.

"Reminiscing of the past is something we all do at some point Cail. However, this is not something we can afford when tomorrow, or maybe in a week, our situation takes a time for the worst." She paused. "Mourn your loved ones by surviving as tenaciously as you can. Do not be deterred by it. That's one lesson that life taught me a long time ago." She pecked his cheek.

"You can have a nice company and a thinking mind besides you for the time being. These are the terms of our partnership. Still, I must go with these people. Their fool's errand is ... well, fruitless. But I've gotta raid a healthcare place because supplies are running low."

She stood up as she finished, her gaze being piercing. "They are either on a love trip, lost their mind, or are actually scouting the road, if you ask my opinion. Regardless, we have more worrysome things to plan yet."

"Alright, no more live practice for me then" Jeff said with a hint of joking when Tyra mentioned their ammo situation. "Guess I'll just do some dry fire drawing practice" he added as he headed off to find the attic.

When Kurt asked about the two leaving, Jeff looked back to where the vehicle was driving off then back at Kurt. "Sorry, I got nothing" Jeff admitted with a shrug, then went up to the attic to find some ammo for his guns.

Tyra shrugged. "I trust Astrid with my fuckin' life... She wouldn't ditch us, no goddamn way.", she said. Then she opened a drawer and threw a (thankfully unloaded) 9mm pistol to Jeff's hands. "Said sumthin?", she quipped.

Kurt chuckled. "Actually, I don't trust Astrid as far as a I can throw'er, she's a loose cannon. She'd ditch us all right, if it gave her an advantage. But it doesn't. And she surely wouldn't leave without takin' our supplies.", he said.

"Fair point.", Tam idly admitted. Tyra quietly observed Sharon: She was much more perceptive when sober. "Waitaminute... Your throat ain't scarred or anythin'. Can't be no birth defect either, you can't enlist if you're disabled. How come you can't talk?", she asked.

After having stayed silent for a while, possibly deep in thought at the prospect of actually being useful to the group now that he could fire a gun, Arnold turned to Sharon and said, "Hey, Can I ask you a question? It's kind of important."

Sharon glared at her, as if to say, What the fuck do you think?

I'd rather not talk about it. She felt Arnold give her a little tap on the shoulder. What's up?

Jeff turned and barely caught the pistol with some surprise, nearly dropping it on the floor. Once he had a grip on it though, he very nearly went to town on the darn thing, turning it over and over in his hands and inspecting it thoroughly.

"Nine millimeter magazine-loaded pistol, probably a Glock model based on the slide shape and plastic grip" Jeff muttered seemingly to himself, as he made sure the safety was on, there was no magazine loaded in, and then pulled the slide back so it locked into place to more clearly indicate the thing wasn't loaded.

"Sorry, I can't use this. It'll jam if I do" Jeff said apologetically, handing the pistol back. "Unless you've got a nine mil revolver, I'll just have to stick with what I've got" he added, knowing that 9mm revolvers weren't exactly common, to say the least.

"Well," explained Arnold, "this is kind of... well, this is very difficult to ask, but..." Arnold voice lowered even further as he asked, "Have you ever tried talking? I mean, I know your... experiences traumatised you, they would traumatise anyone, but your vocal chords are still working, right?"

Sharon cast a stern gaze at Arnold. Oh yeah, because if your vocal cords are working, that automatically means you can talk. Makes perfect sense! It's not like there are other reasons someone wouldn't be able to speak! It's entirely physical, I assure you. I just forgot how to use them!

She stopped, fingers hovering over the keys as she realized just what she'd been writing. Sharon quickly broke her gaze with Arnold, looking all sorts of ashamed. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have snapped at you. It's just... I have this thing, about that. When people ask me if I've tried like the issue is simple as forgetting that I can still talk. It gets me a little riled. Sorry. she typed, rubbing her shoulder awkwardly.

That was the kind of answer Arnold had expected from Sharon. Well actually, he had expected her to start shooting at him, so he was relieved there.

"It's okay," Arnold said, "I shouldn't have asked something like that... Look, if you don't want to talk about it, you don't have to. It was stupid of me to bring it up."

Sharon chuckled a little at that. It's okay. You're my idiot.

She gave him a kiss on the cheek, then turned around to look at the lobby. Well, I don't really know what those two went off to do, but we're probably not going anywhere until they get back. She looked to Kurt. What's there to do around here? Besides plinking, of course.

Seiko had returned to her post over by the front of the room, or nearly anyway. She had her carbine in a ready position but wandered if it was really necessary now. Everyone here was well armed, so intrusions would be more swiftly dealt with than if she'd been the only one. While she still wanted to make sure the group was safe, things were inactive at the moment. Inactivity was starting to bother her, less than a day after she'd barely escaped Portland with her life. She was so used to running, fighting and running again that having somewhere relatively safe was kind of irritatingly placid.

"Fine," she'd responded to Kurt, "Every day hard when monsters try to eat you."

Once she'd finished more contemplation on the inactivity of the group, getting some clothes sounded like a good idea. Certainly a lot safer to get them from the attic than to venture out to a town and retrieve some. The bikers had seemed dangerous and untrustworthy when she'd first met them; Scalps still scared her. But they had something she needed and she hopefully would prove useful to them as a comrade in arms. That sort of co-dependency would have to do for now in the place of actual relationships.

"You mention clothes?" she asked him, approaching from behind, "I need some.. these no good for long time.."

Steven watched as th two drove off then sighed and shrugged. As long as they didn't take anything the people here wouldn't be suffering. Best to just watch and see what would happen. But he was bored too. No running, no panic, no searching for food or supplies. Not that he missed it, but it was a bit unsettling nonetheless. He still couldn't use his phone really, and target practice was out of the question; he needed to save bullets.

After a short time to think, he figured he may as well get back to "studying". He brought 2 books with him, so reading made the most sense for now. He went back to the room he claimed as his own with his Coke and sat back on the bed. Maybe it wasn't the most comfortable of circumstances but it was far from the worst. As he reclined he pulled out a dirty if otherwise well-kept tome on computer maintenance, assembly, and operation and got to reading. It didn't take long for him to get lost in the reading.

Kurt looked at Seiko for a short while, sizing her up.

"You're 'bout Ellie's size. Well, she's not needing her clothes anymore... So I guess you can keep it.", he said. He went into the attic, opened a closet and grabbed some clothes: A pair of weathered black jeans, one pair of black cargo pants, and one pair of camo pants. He also had several band T-shirts and hoodies, mostly In Flames or Sepultura. To top it off, Ellie used to have a snazzy cowgirl jacket in a reddish-brown leather.

Scalps groaned. She'd called dibs on that jacket, way before Ellie became zed lunch. Then again, Seiko's own jacket was damaged beyond repair... So she didn't have much of a case. Everybody knew her as a psycho bitch... No need to have'em know'er as a greedy bitch, too. She sighed and let it go.

She looked at the others. "Whole lotta folks lived there. Some of y'all need spare clothes, we've probably got sumthin'.", she said.

Jeff thought for a moment. "I could go for a good coat to use for the cold weather. Something with sealable pockets to keep ammo and such in if you've got one. I'm okay with a bit large if that's the only option" Jeff said, peering past Kurt into the attic.

Beggars couldn't be choosers in a zombie apocalypse, and just having the resource of extra clothes was a blessing. While they weren't the kind of clothes she'd normally have worn, Seiko accepted the clothes Kurt gave her. She was actually particularly excited about the pants - her skirt was holding up but pants were going to be much more comfortable. Granted there was still one more thing left that she didn't have, and which was embarassing to ask for. In the situation though she couldn't really have much choice.

Flushing in the cheeks a little, she asked, "Did Ellie-san have some.. some underwear? I need.."

Scalps shook her head: "Ellie went commando, mostly.", she said. "As for bras... She got her tops tight enough to not need any.", she said, shrugging. Scalps smirked vaguely: Seiko's embarassment was kinda cute.

Seiko's cheeks flushed a new shade of pink with the biker's response, not liking the information it provided. Even with the end of the world she couldn't let herself dress so immodestly. On the other hand what choices did she have? Meekly she took the clothes and excused herself with a little bow. Perhaps she could scavenge lingerie from other sources than the bikers' attic supply.

Without words to anyone she returned to her room and changed her old clothes for the cargo pants, a t-shirt, and a hoodie over said t-shirt. It was far baggier than what she was used to, but at least it fit. After a bit of consideration she removed the hoodie and put her police tactical vest on over the t-shirt. Seiko attached her helmet to one of the loops on the pants' waistband, slung her carbine over her shoulder and stared at herself in the room's mirror. Staring back was a very different looking girl - very American in Seiko's eyes - who looked like an impromptu soldier of some kind. For the hell of it she let her hair down as well, brushing it to the sides with her fingers.

Now changed, she wondered what to do. No zombies attacking, no conflicts that needed resolving. That downtime was getting to her again and suddenly she had a need for company. Almost a week alone and now she felt herself (intentionally or not) being attached to certain others emotionally. But Sharon was probably busy, and she'd seen very little of Cail lately. Stephen on the other hand had a room not far from her own and she'd talked to him before. Maybe he wasn't busy, she thought; this prompted her to walk over to his door and knock on it.

"Eto... Steven-san, are you here?" she asked hesitantly.

Steven was still reading his book when he heard knocking. A bit confused a first, he then recognized the voice as Seiko's. He got up and calmly opened the door for her, smiling faintly. "Hi Seiko. How can I help you?" He chuckled a bit. "Wow...I sounded like someone from a grocery store. But yeah...hey. Need something?" A bit of an obvious question, seeing as how she was here. But he didn't have much of another way to ask, or seem polite.

Something peculiar happened when Steven opened the door and greeted Seiko: the Japanese girl actually smiled a little. Despite the gravity of their apocalyptic situation and her own restlessness, she found the little grocery store remark amusing. It was the first time in a while she'd managed a smile of any variety. Seiko wasn't even sure what she wanted to talk about, just that she wanted company.

"I get these clothes from bikers.. they look okay?" she asked, managing to at least identify that as a potential conversation topic.

Steven looked over her for a moment, noticing the difference, including the smile. He gave a little smile of his own before he said, "Yeah, they look really nice on you. Much more casual. That and the smile, you look a little more lively." He stepped a bit to the side as he held the door open. "Do you want to sit down? You don't have to just stand there in the doorway." Maybe talking to her would do some good for his mind, and for hers, he thought to himself. Anyway that he could keep himself going, and even better if he could help her.
