Cail, grimaced at the thought of them trying to wait it out in this place but he decided that it was mob rule and he had nothing left to say. Sticking the rest of the conversation out in silence, the mission sounded risky and if they went up against anyone living he would not be the first to shoot. However if they needed a few zed dead for good he wouldn't object. After everything was discussed Cail broke away from the group and tried the television in the corner, to no avail. Cail sighed and leaned back in the couch he was siting on.

"Well..." said Arnold, "I'm left handed. Is that... is that good? Or is it bad? Is this like, a right-handed gun or something? Is that a thing?" Arnold paused for a moment, took a deep breath, then said, "Wow, I really do not know anything about guns, do I?"

Sharon chuckled a little. No, it's fine. You just need to grip your gun with your dominant hand. She moved his left arm into position, wrapping it around the Ruger.

Now you just wrap the fingers of your other hand around your left, just beneath the trigger. And lock your right thumb underneath your left. Nimbly guiding his fingers, Sharon finally got Arnold to grip the revolver just right. She stepped back.

Okay, that's that. Now let's undo the safety. Be sure to keep it pointed downrange. With a quick motion, the safety was disengaged. Now it was time for the final bit. Obviously before I teach you anything about urban combat, we have to make sure you know how to shoot with some accuracy. See those ridges on the top of the gun? There's one in the front, two in the back. Hold them up to eye level and center the front on the target. Make sure it still ends up between the other two. Once you've got your target in sight, squeeze, DO NOT PULL, the trigger.

Steven nodded a bit at the explanation. "I don't really...begrudge anyone having to kill. I guess if that is what life you had to deal with before all this then that is your business, not mine. Heck, maybe the guy deserved it. It's just...a lot different than the life I used to lead. I was just a college student, and barely one at that! I sat alone in my apartment, read and took notes about this and that for a while, then called it a day. I'm pretty smart, but when it comes to things like this I'm sorry to say I have few trained skills. I know enough to assist others with certain things, not enough to work alone." He sighed and shrugged. "Which means I'm basically stuck following whoever I get latched with and hoping I don't get anyone killed." He laughed a bit, but it was weak and uncertain. "So I'm probably out on this one, but it is still interesting to hear the planning." This also gave him a chance to check everyone out though, learn what they were like, then make decisions on who he was sticking with.

"I'd be surprised if the police department made loud alarms go off just because one store is getting robbed. No, probably just a blinking light and maybe some beeping in a back room, so I wouldn't count on it to take away attention from us" Jeff added in after finishing his food. He glanced towards where Sharon and Arnold had gone for shooting practice, and after a moment of thought stood up.

"I'm gonna go get my clothes and watch their backs" Jeff said, and headed to the laundry room to go change. A couple minutes later, and Jeff was back in his work uniform and tennis shoes, feeling relieved to be back in them. Then he started walking back to the room he slept in, to get his guns.

Scalps smirked: "All stores are on Main Street back at Detroit village... Made sense for 'em to have a single loud alarm. Everythin's on the same place after all.", she said, shrugging.

She then looked at Steven, smiling warmly: "Thanks for understandin'. Most civvies think I'm a psycho bitch.", she said.

Steven couldn't help but chuckle when he heard that. "Well, admittedly removing parts from people and keeping them is a bit off. But then again..." He looked over at Rita once, then back at Scalps (whose real name I just can't remember) "If anyone told me that sometime I would point a gun at someone's head and actually want to pull the trigger, I'd have said they were nuts. These are crazy times were in. I don't know what those people did that maskes you hate them, but I'm going to trust that they deserved it." Steven sat back in his seat and watched everyone, taking a mental count. Sharon and Arnold went shooting, and Jeff possibly went with them. Rita was here with Seiko. And a couple were here planning. So that only left Cail, and that other guy they found here, plus maybe a couple others he didn't know the names of. Still unsure of what to do, Steven sat back and listened to the others for a bit.

Steven smiled back politely, though to be honest the thought of vengenance was a little bad to him. But he preferred to not bring it up. "Well, I guess they won't be forgetting. Not that there aren't other big things to worry about of course." He chuckled and stood up. "Got anything to drink here? I mean, besides beer or anythng like tat." Not thathe didn't drink, just wasn't the time to. "Gonna need smething with all that could happen todday."

"Retribution is good for purging one's pent up emotion." Rita said, still fumbling with the lockpicks. "Although, If I were you, Scalps, isn't it? I'd lure them out to a zombie place by exploiting their oh-so much self-righteousness, and then watch their so called "law" tearing their squad apart."

She paused. She had sworn Cail was around. Well, she had to pay some effort in the investment, wouldn't she? She strode past the bikers, posing in front of Cail. "You look rather dejected. Something on your mind?"

Arnold took a deep breath as he clutched the gun. Sure, Sharon was trying to be reassuring, but the very fact that she had to give these instructions via a cell phone made it feel like he was reading from a manual, as opposed to being trained by an actual human being... with experience in firearms, he should add. However, in Arnold's case this was actually an advantage. He was always better at absorbing information he read than information he heard.

Following Sharon's instructions word for word, he squeezed on the trigger of the gun, which quickly unloaded a shot... a shot which actually managed to hit the target. Sure, it only just about hit it, but it was still proof that Arnold was doing something right.

Tam looked at Scalps and Rita, vaguely amused... But she said nothing.

"Tyra Freeman.", she said. "What's your name, anyway?", she saked. "Don't think that bitch's the original.", she quipped.

Tam briefly chuckled. "At any rate, I don't think there's much of a police presence anymore... All survivors have probably gone rogue by now, like Kaimi here... Or into hiding. PAF folks conscript'em and use'em as disposable trained meat in suicide runs until they croak.", she explained. "Most cops sided with the government. The commies ain't going to let it slide... They're the sort to hold a grudge.", she said, shrugging.

Good. Let's practice this for a while. Taking her own gun in hand, Sharon continued to type. There are obvious differences between revolvers and repeaters, but two good ways to maintain your accuracy is to control your breathing as much as possible, and to let the recoil flow through your arms naturally. Don't try to control recoil, let it pass through you and then immediately get back on target. They're difficult for beginners, so I don't expect you to get it right away, but they make a noticeable difference.

Taking up her own gun in her right hand and sliding in a fresh magazine (turns out those bikers were good for something), Sharon sent three shots downrange in rapid succession, nailing the head (once) and the heart (twice!) in under two seconds.

That's the standard shot pattern. You hit him with a solid shot to the body, and while he's disoriented, hit him in the head. Then one more in the chest for good measure. But if you can't get a good shot on the head kr aren't confident you can hit it, she fired four more rounds, marking the chest of the target with a patch of bullet holes, Always aim for the body. Headshots are impressive, but bungling the shot in actual combat can leave you impressively fucked. So don't aim for the head unless you're sure you can hit it.

She smiled at him, reloading her own gun. Let's just practice hitting the target for now though, okay?

The gunshots woke Kurt up. He stumbled out of the bed on his boxers, grabbing the Garand. He slipped into some pants and boots and headed for the lounge. "Someone's shooting, what's going on?", he asked.

"Practice going well?" Jeff asked as he exited out the back door behind Sharon and Arnold. He wasn't actually looking at them, but was instead looking at the woods around the bar. "I wouldn't use up too much ammo just for practice" he added idly, turning back at the building to see if there was an upper balcony he could maybe get to or a way onto the roof.

Cail looked up from nothing into Rita's eyes and looked as if he was about to say something but stopped himself at the last moment. "Nothing," Cail shook his head, conjuring a smile.

"Just thinking..." Cail's tone dropped and he shrugged, "'bout home, family....this," Cail waved his hands at nothing in particular, referring to the entire situation.

Tam looked at Cail and Rita, pensive. She could read everyone else all right, but she couldn't figure Rita out to save her own life.

Seiko was a scared kid, paranoid and overreacting. Getting on her good side would be trivial. Sharon was obviously a scarred vet, probably guilt issues. That made her vulnerable. Arnold was the stereotypical lifelong loser, saddled with crippling inadequacy issues. Also vulnerable, thus a non-threat. Astrid was trouble. She was the kinda chick who wouldn't hesitate to murder in cold blood to get her way: She'd seen her do it. Best bet was to stay outta her goddamn way.

Steve and Jeff were regular civvies: Neither of them looked particularly useful nor threatening. Still, as honest folks clashed with the outlaws, they'd probably be seen as neutral. They might end up as de-facto referees in arguments, so it'd be wise to court their influence. Cail was certainly the adventuring type and probably having a very good time. Kurt and Kaimi? Tough and assertive, yeah. Also easy-going and reasonable. They were unlikely to start trouble. Tyra had taken a while to figure out: She looked scary and dangerous (scalps and all)... But she didn't act like it. That puzzled Tam at first. Then she'd seen her talk about vengeance, and everything made sense. She actually was a nice and easy-going gal... Around her friends. Her hatred towards her enemies knew no limits, and she'd gleefully do everything she could to harm them. As a veteran drug dealer, she simply happened to hate narcs a whole goddamn lot.

Rita? She seduced the toughest "dependable" guy and did everything she could to build a power base... Then the next minute around she scared/irritated/offended everyone, including her shag. Her strategy was a mystery.

Arnold continued to take a few shots at the target, constantly following the instructions of Sharon perfectly, and for the most part, he was fairly accurate with the gun. Upon hearing Jeff, Arnold turned to Sharon, with the gun still aimed at the target, and said, "He has a point. Should I stop firing?"

Sharon considered this, hmmming audibly. We have a fair amount of ammo, but I suppose it doesn't pay to waste. And you, she kissed him, smiling, are learning quickly. I think we can set aside lessons for now.

She turned to Jeff. You wanna take any shots before we take these down?

It took a few moments before Jeff turned around and realized Sharon was addressing him. "Huh? Uh, not unless you've got more ammo I can use. I'm running on like eight for this and three for the other" Jeff answered, patting his rifle then motioning at the revolver.

"I came out here to make sure nothing snuck up on you being attracted by the noise, really" Jeff added with a bit of a shrug.

Kurt looked at Seiko and smiled, warmly.

"How're you holdin' up?", he asked. "Kind of a rough day yesterday, huh?", he said.

He then looked at the group in a more general way. "If someone needs supplies, ask me. We got all sorts of stuff stored in the attic.", he made a pause. "Blankets, spare clothes, ammo... This place is an outlaws' commune: Our stuff is y'all's stuff.", he said. "Rule of thumb: If it ain't in someone's private room, it's common property."

Without prior warning, a pickup truck sounded on the parking lot. Astrid and Kaimi had taken her Amarok and were leaving. They didn't bother to tell anybody: Perhaps they weren't going very far... or they planned to return soon.

There's plenty in the rec room if you feel like it. Boxes and boxes of it. She grinned. Our ammo problems just went from "How many rounds can I spare?" to "How many rounds can I carry?"

Sharon walked through the door, just in time for Kurt's little "welcome home" speech. Her smile, instead of fading, only grew more satisfied. Maybe this one wasn't quite as bad as she'd thought. Maybe.

"Really? Well, in that case" Jeff stepped forward past Sharon and unslung his rifle. He quickly took aim at the target, then after a moment of adjustment, fired. After recovering from the recoil and chambering another round, which took a bit longer than it would have for just about anyone else in the group, Jeff lined up another shot and fired.

Both shots were nearly at the center of the target. "Looks like I've still got it" Jeff said, slinging his rifle onto his back again. Then he headed back inside, catching the last bit of Kurt's speech. Jeff gave a simple nod, then glanced around, wondering where the spare ammo was.

Steven nodded in thanks and went to get a Coke. As he tood back and drank, he looked at the others. He still wanted to try to get out somehow, with others to help him. But he wasn't the manipulative type or anything like that. He was the helper. Unless others went of their own accord, he waswn't going anywhere. But, he could make friends. Be helpful, useful, supporting. Made it moe likely to get where he wanted to go when the inevitable split happened. As he drank he looked toward the door.

"Uh...does anyone hear that?" He spoke with a raised eyebrow. "There's something outside..." He walked to the window and looked out, but only saw a vehicle starting. "Hey...what..." He didn't know what they heck they were doing out thre, but at the same time, since it did't make a huge difference to him, he didn't now what else to do but watch as they left.
