Well it is. It has the signature pose down but it doesn't show anything else. Guess a comic panel would be the best option so it actually has the challenge in it.

Motion to pull

Doesn't completely describe the trope

We need an actual screencap or panel to show this off.

I see a pose, but it would be nice to get some of that "symbolic background" and "dramatic wind" the description describes as typical. If we could get more visual cues in there, I would be comfortable going without text.

Rhymes with "Protracted."

Sailor Moon was a Manga First, and just this year Kodansha is releasing new English translations. Hint, hint.

In the meantime, scanlation for reference: First full instance of "In the name of the moon" here and here - right to left reading order, would need to be edited together.

Here's the relevant panel from that second link at 350 px

[up]I like it, but maybe the text can be edited to be a little larger? smile

Yeah, I just put that up for a starter...if we end up going with it the text can be resized then unless someone wants to do it now.

Scanlations are easier because that means we wouldn't have to actually scan in our own copies of comics... and I wouldn't want to damage mine... when I get them. [/offtopic]

I like the second one as well.

Even so, if anyone has the new books and would be willing to scan, that would be best. If not, we can make do. (I'm inclined to say no to the old Mixx/Tokyopop translations, I don't like the font they used...that they use the Dub names is probably not relevant to this. Probably.)

Or we can take the third option and go with something else.

optional panel right before which is I Am Hero, Hear Me ROAR!.

Option 2 [1] [2] [3]

Can you make the subtitle not blend into the pink?

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.

[up] Agreed; lighten up the text and that'll be a good pic.

I don't think I have any software for changing the text like that, but here's the video I got the scene from: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnYNOvUMihk

That one frame doesnt show the formal challenge / threat aspect. [1]

Swapping [1] for the current pic as it's a higher-quality version of the same image and therefore a free change. Carry on.

That pic needs a bit of overall color correction too, it's got a bit of yellow cast. (I can do it if that's the one we go with)

How's this? I did some whiting of the text...could do more.

Actually, here's a shit attempt while I'm watching That Metal Show.

Elle Since: Jan, 2001

Here. I did the color correction. To whiten the text I made a copy of just the white onto a new layer and added a new stroke + drop shadow over it, with a little hand touchup.

And here, 1st attempt at editing the manga pages together. Unfortunately the text suffers when reduced to size, and I've taken it as far as I can go without cutting out just the text balloon of the first page and overlaying it on the second.

Then maybe make the text caption a parody/riff on the first part of the speech?

"Hold it! You would have this page without a picture of the Trope Namer? I won't forgive it!"
