Made the switch.
I dunno this crowner ran for 6 months and barely crept to exactly 2:1, eventually. Is there an upper limit on time until a crowner is called?
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Either way, it easily beat the next highest choice, and the old name is no longer an option.
If there is a vote to rename, and then no consensus on a new name, what happens?
(I'd say: Nothing, no rename.)
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. As far as I know, the 2:1 ratio is only required for single prop and page action crowners. When names are performing poorly, there's usually a discussion, a call for new suggestions, and, if nobody seems to feel strongly one way or the other, a leading choice with less than a 2:1 ratio can be used, but if it seems like a base breaker, other options are usually sought. It doesn't come up all that often, though, so it may just be a matter of people playing it by ear.
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee. That answer does not address the question.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.I thought it did. We don't have a clearly defined procedure, so we mostly play it by ear. There is no formally defined answer of the type you're looking for, nor is there enough precedent to say what a formally defined answer should be, or even if it might be a good idea to have a formally defined answer. Personally, I'm happy judging this on a case-by-case basis on the rare occasions it occurs. I've seen a few different approaches tried, and none of them looked like a one-size-fits-all answer.
eta: anyway, that's all sort of beside the point in this case, where we do, finally, have a clear winner. The general discussion about how to resolve tough crowners seems better suited for Wiki Talk.
*sigh* I've answered you twice. We. Play. It. By. Ear. If you really insist on continuing this, please start a new thread on Wiki Talk, and I'll be happy to recount some of the instances I've seen.

Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee. Not asking what happens here, it is already done anyway. Asking: If there is a vote to rename, and then no consensus on a new name, what happens?
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. But the crowner is called, so maybe we should move wicks?
Sure, move 'em.

Nice work! Killed the ghost wick for you (for future reference, edit to create the page, then immediately cutlist), so we're all done here.
Locking up.
