Did they learn how to spell and use the English language properly?
I've heard stories of artists having to sell organs so they didn't die of starvation. So, obviously, all artists must do that, or statistics would be something to actually use.
That's the point of doing something worthwhile like engineering instead of becoming a humanities major.
Overall, it's not like NASA is hiring engineers at the moment. Or at least, not ones with low experience.

Well maybe.
Still, some friends of mine are doing actually quite well. Better than my engineering friends. And the thing is, they are actually making a difference in their community and get paid very well do do so.
And they didnt had to learn how to add fractions.
Also, Ive have heard stories about nuclear engineers fixing toilets.
