Yeah, "lying" is kind of an absurd term — how can a creator lie about his fictionalcreation? I support Unreliable Creator, though I'm still not certain this is even a trope.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.I think Unreliable Creator sounds more negative than Lying Creator. Unreliable is a straight out negative concept, while the most common lies are the white ones. It is possible to lie about fictional creations. If Leonardo Da Vinci said that the next painting he was going to paint was a war scene and then went on to paint Mona Lisa, I'd say calling him a liar would be plenty accurate. Or if Joss Whedon would say no characters would die in his next story. If it's a deliberate untruth, it's a lie.
A point could be made about a creator being forced to do something else, or simply changing his mind, but I'm not sure I'd include those as examples, as they don't seem to fit the description. The former could be seen as a justified example, and the latter would go under Flip-Flop of God, rather than under this one, although it can be hard to prove either way.
Inaccurate Word Of God is slightly better, though I think a rename is unnecessary.

The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.Bump. (Are we renaming the trope or just cleaning it up?)
Clocking.
Locking due to inactivity.
I support Unreliable Creator, as it's a pun on a well established literary concept, and it isn't nearly as antagonistic as the current name.
EDIT: Not sure why it's a blue link, the page is blank???
