I concur. Harvey Dent in this series is basically a strawman who exists to marginalise any of the usual arguments that having Batman running around isn't a good thing. His motivations don't even make any sense from the perspective of him being a selfish asshole - like, even if all he cares about is looking good so he can become mayor, why would he ever be willing to team up with Anarky to get rid of Batman? I get that he hates Batman, but by all logic he should like the idea of Anarky roaming free even less.
Harvey is evil and Two-Face is good
I just watched the last three episodes, and just... wow. Can you say Growing the Beard? This was SO much better than anything the show has ever offered before, that it actually made me excited about the prospect of another season.
I'm really hoping this becomes the new Big O. Is it bad I want a crossover between the two and see what Roger Smith looks like in this CGI version?
I've watched the episodes up to "Animal", and I'm really enjoying this show. Too bad this show got screwed over like some of the previous DC shows.
I still don't care for this version of Alfred.
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!I quite like this version of Alfred, but I could do without tying down another major villain to his MI 6 past.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).I was kinda skeptical at first, but then I've grown to like this Alfred.
He reminds me a lot of Butler.
That's who I thought of first too actually! Though I figured nobody else would get the reference.
Improving as an author, one video at a time.Aww, finale was pretty cool. Pity if this show doesn't ever get third season considering that we will never know what Two-Face would have looked like :P Or what his gimmick would have been. I mean, he appears to have split personality since he refers himself as we, but its clearly not traditional "good guy, bad guy, flip a coin" one.
Coould be interesting if the Alternate personality is the good one. Has anyone ever developed a second personality that was more moral than the original ?
They could have had them just having different goal rather than differing methodology.
So finally getting around to catching this show as it airs on Toonami and I'm really liking it.
Still hate Alfred and if I'm honest the art style isn't my cup of tea but everything else is great.
Oh really when?I LOVE THE SHOW! I'm actually really bummed because I don't think we'll be getting a second season. It's really sad and quite frustrating that Beware the Batman wasn't really given a chance to prove itself as a solid action cartoon, not to mention the top notch writing. I really feel as though the show has tremendous potential!
"The Price of Imagination is Fear"Do you think the unavoidable eventual next Batman (or DC in general) action show will have better luck if it's already starting in Toonami?
Seeing Batman lose his utility belt temporarily and Slade losing his eye as I rewatched the finale made me really excited. If the second season comes around, I hope they raise the stakes.
Also, I hope Clayface appears in season 2. Mostly so I can see a brawl between him and Metamorpho. If that happens, I hope Ron Perlman reprises the role.
@Napoleon De Cheese: Yeah, I think that the next Batman (DC cartoon) would do MUCH better on Toonami. @minespatch: Clayface would be an interesting one to see animated on BTB!

"The Price of Imagination is Fear"I can see Clayface being looser in anatomy compared to Metamorpho so that there's obvious contrasts. Just think about what the animators could do with the second season if they listen to complaints. The first thing would be making the resolution a bit brighter so you can see certain scenes that are too dark(too much shadow, hard to see).
My biggest beef with the animation are the empty streets, but it's hard to get around that on a TV budget.
I agree with the above mentioned points, certain scenes in the show were TOO dark. Also, Gotham's virtually lifeless during the night in BTB. If that were the case Batman would be unnecessary to begin with. No life = No crime.

"The Price of Imagination is Fear"They actually explained in story that most of the civilians moved to Metropolis while the poor and the rich hang around Gotham.
Huh? When was this?
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).One of the news reports sometime in the show, I forget which episode. Might be the one with Stagg out of prison with that mech suit shooting that grocery store in the old section of Gotham.
Hmm... Interesting. I was not aware.
"The Price of Imagination is Fear"
Despite liking everything else, I think that this show has the worst version of Harvey Dent ever. They really missed the point of the character there.
