Anyone have the story links? There was one that I was hoping to read. (BTW, I seem to have lost the link to my own story.)

I guess I might as well post mine, then. (In retrospect, it's not exactly my greatest work, but I guess it was good enough.)

So, the results seem pretty clear overall, but we still haven't heard from the other two judges...

I PMed the judges, asking them to either post scores, or post in the thread that they won't post scores.

(I expect the latter, to be honest—I think most of us have given up on the contest at this point—but I'd be touched if it was the former.)

Unfortunately, I won't be posting scores within the next week or so, which probably means I won't get to it. I apologize for having committed to judge without being able to follow through; I feel it deserves more than a spur-of-the-moment single reading, and I've got enough else going on that I can't get enough time to read them to the depths required until a week or so from now. At which point either I'll have forgotten or everyone else will. Apologies.

Unfortunately, I'm in a similar boat. Between work and other real life obligations, this place tends to be the first place that gets cut for time (and the last place added back in once time frees up). I hate feeling like a flake, but if you have a backup judge, then I guess it's not too bad.

Congrats to whomever ends up winning.

Such a shame we can declare winner with that we got or if you wait for me a bit I will act as a substitute judge.

I know this was a disaster but a promise is a promise grin

Didn't you submit one of the entries?

I'd rather just declare the winner now.

[up]yeah! I think it will be better if we declare winner now. I submitted the entries after all and it wouldn't be impartial sad

^ So if I was 2, and Night was 3, then does that mean Freezair was 1 and Misuki was 4? (I need to determine whose was whose for the writeup.)

Anyways, I'll start writing now.

...I still got second place? Really? *headscratch* Huh. Maybe I should re-check the numbers, since I thought I was heading for bronze. I do agree with the criticisms that my story wasn't accessible enough outside the fandom. I blame myself for picking a fandom with way too much mythos and backstory behind it and trying to condense that all in around 1,000 words.

[up]Two of the other entries just weren't that good - the Final Fantasy Tactics one was extremely weak, and Night's started out well but broke down pretty fast. So you had the advantage of relatively little competition.

I'm going to post a detailed critique of all four stories now that things are done, but it might take a few days.

I know the independency category was very confusing. But it was the only way to give the freedom of choosing any work to make fanfiction from.
