Talk about Coldplay here.

I was first introduced to it when a group in my orchestra class back in America did a cover of it. The song, "Clocks", had a rather sleepy tune so I didn't like it much.

I really got interested in them when I watched that I Tunes commercial featuring Coldplay and got drawn by how eyebleedingly dazzling it was. So I found the song, Viva la Vida, and by the God, it was amazing. It is easily one of my favorite bands now.

Am I alone in this?

No. They seem to be the only real pop band out there. Each album has a genuine difference to it and that marks a band that's trying to put out good music instead of music that sells.

I used to hate them because it was fashionable, but now I'm just pretty meh about the whole thing. They're relatively inoffensive I guess.

I used to be a huge fan. Back when my musical taste had not developed much yet.

But even now I still enjoy some of their early stuff and the latest album. The middle two albums are kind of boring though.

Coldplay were my first love when it came to music, and I love them still; 'Violet Hill' was in the first batch of fifteen or so songs that I ever put on my iPod, and it's still up there with my two or three favourite songs. My brothers mock me ceaselessly for it, but I really, genuinely love their music.

The trouble is, I have a sneaking suspicion that Mylo Xyloto is going to be terrible.

I remember hearing and liking "Clocks" when I was 12 years old in '02, but what sealed my liking for them was the video for "The Scientist". I remember seeing it for the first time on The N (it's called Teen Nick, now) and I just loved that song/video.

All of their albums are good, despite how people criticize them and their sound.

[up]I've heard Mylo Xyloto. It's good if you don't expect another Viva la Vida though it seems that they were trying to capture that magic again. But it is in no way terrible.

Necro.

I listened to earlier songs, like most of the X & Y, and compared to them Viva la Vida sounds really different.

I honestly don't know a thing by them.

The only full albums I've heard are Parachutes and Viva La Vida.... I sorta like both, but I don't get the urge to listen to either particularly often and have no particular desire to go listen to the other two albums in a hurry. Parachutes was the one time the Radiohead comparisons made sense to me, because when I first heard that album, I sort of thought of it as mixing together the more adult-alternative-ish elements of The Bends and Grace.

Viva La Vida is definitely their greatest, most ambitious, well-written album but Mylo Xyloto...wow, what a slump

I wonder how much of the good quality from "Viva..." can be attributed to the genius of Brian Eno.

EDIT: Nevermind, turns out that he produced Mylo Xyloto as well. Huh...

I'm a fan, mostly of Viva la Vida and similar songs. The only one I really dislike is, surprisingly, Yellow. It just annoys me for some reason.

Some people think I'm strange. I think it's sad that they can't see all the awesome stuff going on in my head right now.
