Hmm... While I'm a fan of Blackadder, I'm still not sure this is a good idea or not.

It's the Daily Mirror, but it sounds legit, although he's more saying he'd be interested in doing one than that one is in the works at any time in the future.

Would be pretty cool though. Hmm, what historical period could they do? Maybe like a colonial one that would involve the Blackadder that was Col. Blackadder's father?

Obviously they're going to cryogenically freeze Rowan and the others until a few more time periods pass.

Not going to place my trust in this just yet, this story gets reported every few years. Although the fact that it's from somone other than Tony Robinson makes it very slightly more promising.

If it did happen I'd like to believe it would be good, although there's always the spectre of the awful Back and Forth special. As for the cast, presumably Laurie would be too busy to be a regular, Mc Innery is adamant he'd never do it and it might be hard to convince Mayall to do an episode if Fry is involved.

As for setting there's a already a few leaked concepts which were apparantly discussed over the years. My favourite was the Redadder film idea.

I'm not familiar with cast relationships- is there some bad blood between some of them?

Rick Mayall and Adrian Edmundsen were working with Fry when he had his first well-published psychiatric breakdown due to his bipolar disorder. Fry walked out on their production, leaving them in the lurch. Mayall and Edmundsen reacted less then understanding, which is understandable in itself, but it did set some really bad blood.

McInnery is a bit miffed that he's still only recognized as Percy/Darling, and not for any of his more serious roles. Can't find any reference of him never wanting to do another Blackadder thing again, though, just that he believes there will never be another series.

I think there's something about the Blackadder kind of comedy that won't work in the modern day. Don't get me wrong it is hilarious and brilliant, but somehow I just can't picture it working in on HD without being limited to about three, fairly cheap sets. It had a style to it that helped make it what it was, and I don't we'll see that again even if they do make a new series.

A lot of British comedies that originated in that era suffered from this, I think. Only Fools And Horses is a good example.

Meh, every time one of the cast gets bored or nostalgic, they say something about a new series. Really, there's been literally dozens of attempts to moot the concept. At this stage though, I think it would fail. The cast have aged and moved on.

Though I'd still watch it religiously if it were to happen, and part of me will always hope it does. It won't, though.

No, please don't. I liked where the series ended.
