If you mean Tides...I dunno because I'm stuck at the stone head dungeon that's Mikato's mission. =/

I was talking Tides, but I finally got past it. I just kited the crap out of him with a fire staff since keeping enough distance for the staff to still land hits tended to prevent him from starting the spin in the first place. Even then, I still had a few do-overs because the second he starts his spin attack and you take a hit, you cannot escape. Seriously poor design.

Just got into Summer and I've actually been unlocking things left and right due to being able to make vast piles of money off of carpentry. Took a little while to get that far and the randomness in the crop system has led to some dry spells, but I usually manage to get a ton of Moondrops and Pink Cats and then turn them all into Pansies on the carpentry bench. Ridiculous amounts of money. Gamebreaking, practically.

And that was AFTER I learned about the Hot Milk trick.

I'm starting to wonder what I'll do with the money once I've finished clearing out James of all his stock.

Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny - 15 minutes in

This game has broken my suspension of disbelief and is now physically hurting me. The dialogue is just so bad! Urgh! This is not how you do a "trapped in another body" storyline! You're not supposed to introduce to everyone that you have another person living inside your body! You're supposed to keep it a secret as long as possible, setting up story elements in which your partner takes over and finds out secrets as a female, then using those secrets to your advantage as a male and vice versa! You're supposed to keep the charade up as long as possible! YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO INTRODUCE TO EVERYONE THAT YOU HAVE ANOTHER PERSON LIVING INSIDE YOUR BODY!!

And the invisiblewalls! THE INVISIBLE WALLS! Why do they exist? More importantly, why give a double jump if you can't even jump off the roof of the grocery?! Its just a fence!

It kinda bugged me that all the towns people accept the situation pretty easily.

It's a universe with flying whale islands. I imagine having two people in one body is pretty routine for them.

That's plural. And that's where you're wrong. I played Frontier, I know that Whale Island is one-of-a-kind. Not many people have even heard of it. It was just barely mentioned in Rune Factory 3. So no, this shouldn't be an everyday occurrence.

There's actually a Whale Island reference in this one too. Now I forget where.

Actually, while at first it was weird to me, I actually prefer that it isn't some big secret. As I've been doing story events and character events, they've actually had some pretty good interactions based on the two-people-one-body situation being out in the open. Mostly for comedy though - I actually haven't seen someone dramatically point this out (though Bismarck going on a "date" with Sonja cracked me the hell up).

That was merely an example of the kind of weirdness in the series. If you want to be pedantic, you've also got monsters tending farm crops. And other such nonsense. So it's not that hard to really just relax.

Yeah. I mean it's weird but....what isn't weird about this series? Keep in mind the last game let you turn into a sheep monster. :T

I'm really finding the gameplay lacking in some departments...still..as much as I want to say "I don't like this game"...it's too damn charming. Some of the risks they took did fail but you can't blame them for trying something new.

Footage of the 3DS game. The graphics look great but the character models are just awesome. Seriously, look how cute!

Also, pandas!

The series likes pandas all of a sudden.

I still can't believe how good the character models look! And to think you can customize! <3

Also, Pandas are awesome. I love how it went from chicken and cows, to bears and snakes and giraffes. [lol]

I'm sad that they're apparently completely abandoning consoles for the foreseeable future. Sigh. I've never liked any of the portable HM titles outisde of the Rune Factory series.

Aren't they still making that Harvest Moon for the PS 3/360 with online play?

Sigh.

Save the Homeland comes out today on PSN for $10. As much as I hate the game and have Tides of Destiny...I'm going to buy it anyways. -_-'

Damn you Harvest Moon. DAMN YOUR GRIP OVER ME!

I've got at least a half a dozen Harvest Moon games that I've snagged over the years that I have yet to actually play.

Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.

Me, I just make lists of who I'd marry and what kinds of animals I want to focus on raising. :P

You know..playing through it again...why did I hate Save the Homeland so much? Sure it's not my favorite and I don't like the "You have one year!" deadline...but it's a good game. Only, what, four or five crops to sell? And you can't sell wool from sheep, correct?

Still....it's genuinely charming, even after a decade.

That was my biggest beef with Save the Homeland. It didn't actually have much to do with farming. At some point I realized that I didn't actually have any reason to grow crops, so I just picked one of the plot threads to follow and found myself basically ignoring everything except that.

Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.
