The image on the page is literally JAFAAC with the caption not explaining the trope well either.

PS. This is my first image pickin' thread, did I format it right?

JAFAAC isn't about pictures of faces, it's about pictures that don't demonstrate the trope.

The trope is that sparkly thing by his face, right? So the image should be okay, then, unless that's not an example?

But it is just a beam it doesn't show any enlightenment which is what the trope is about. All I see in that picture is a face with a light behind it, not a beam indicating clarity of mind.

That's the visual part of the trope I think. It's a specific visual trope, unless I'm mistaken, so the image, by definition, is accurate, but the result may not be.

[up] I agree; I'm fine with the current pic.

I added the pothole to the pic, and reformatted the Wiki Words in the caption.

The beam is the enlightenment. It's like if we had a trope about someone getting confused, and they had a question mark over their head in the image, you wouldn't say "But it doesn't show them getting confused" because that's what the question mark means.

[up]But looking at that picture how do you know that that beam personifies enlightenment? We need another picture to go with that one to show how the beam has 'enlightened' the character. I am not that familiar with yugioh but could we get a screenshot of the scene immediately after he gets hit with the beam?

But the enlightenment is symbolized by the beam. The beam itself is the trope.

The current pic is fine, but a more lampshade-y one could possibly be better. Also, I'm not a fan of the caption.

Ok I think I misunderstood the trope, I thought the trope centered around the enlightenment which the beam gave not the beam itself. Because this picture just shows a beam of light behind a head and nothing about the enlightenment that the beam is giving I thought it did not represent the trope. If what you are saying is true and the trope is not about enlightenment at all and is just about a beam of light then the picture is fine.

Maybe the caption could be changed to something like "Oh my God...I'm hungry!"

Hmmmm...yeah, I'm pretty neutral on it myself, and one nay vote on it really isn't enough to make a fuss over, so I think this one should be good to lock up.
