Katamari series

Figure a general series topic would be a good way to announced that Katamari is heading to iOS devices.

I wish they would make another Katamari console game. I don't care if there is nothing innovative about it, I just feel like rolling up more stuff.

Hey, maybe it'll show up on the Wii U. Maybe.

What if for a new game, they set levels in something besides a Japanese suburb and a school?

Beautiful Katamari wasn't set in a school...

But Katamari F Orever and We Love Katamari did have levels set in schools.

OK, but you seemed to imply all of the games did. If two out of five games have school levels, that is not even a majority.

Why have I not played this series? Why did I not play it back when it first came out.

Recently got the PS4 version of Reroll and trying to collect everything this time (the fact that this one has trophies helps a bit lol) The bear and cow levels are a paiiiiinnn, at least they don't seem as bad as Cowbear so far... keyword AS.

Also finally got back to getting the remaining trophies in Touch My Katamari now that I've been in a Katamari mood lately. Might grind out Fan Damacys later so I can play all the extra DLC levels

We love Katamari remaster on June 2nd.

Oh HELL YEAH I'm so excited to play this game again

I know it's going to be on PS 4, but I'll probably pick up the Switch version because I like the idea of having Katamari on the go.

Meanwhile I'll likely get the PS4 version for trophies

...oh god I'm gonna have to do Cowbear again... and imagine if there's a trophy for 1 million roses...

Heard that once you've played one Katamari game, you've played them all. Would the biggest problem trying to create new games be creative originality then?

Possibly? For me, the gameplay never really gets old as long as there's new fun areas to explore and things to roll up. Which is one of the reasons I feel the original Katamari Damacy doesn't quite measure up to later entries - everything happens in the same place, which in one way is kinda fun how everything ends up connected in the end, but also just makes it feel more "samey".

...So yeah, I'd absolutely love to see a brand new Katamari!

So, We Love Katamari Reroll is out and I love it! As my first Katamari game and one of my first Playstation games this one's pretty nostalgic!

Currently rolling up the last few cousins and looking for stickers, only found a Pac-Man one so far (and a few more I didn't recognize but I found those before getting the Camera item so have to go back for those). Hoping there's a Don-chan sticker somewhere!

..Also, Colombo got renamed to Njamo out of nowhere? I've seen some people suspect copyright issues and that seems possible, especially when the level where you roll up countries is notably outdated, with Eswatini still being Swaziland, no South Sudan, Libya having the old flag ect. (guess they wanted to keep it the same as the 2005 original, well, aside from the new features)
