Which civil war are we on about?
Dutch LesbianWhat if the North had won the Civil War?
Which civil war... There are tons of war at that time. Korean?
...a little brother should belong to his older sister, right? - Orimura ChifuyuHm, The American Civil War?
The North did win that one.
Also, how come up arrows aren't showing up for me on this thread?

somethingBut North Vietnam did win the war!
OP: It's hard to imagine, isn't it? Maybe the economy would be better off now if slavery had been abolished then instead of collapsing in the 1890s and taking the rest of the market with it.
Productivity is for people without internet connections. -Count DorkuNorth did win... That's why there is a north in the first place.
Why does the north always win?

Now using Trivialis handle.I don't think this thread is actually serious... see Haven's post.
Hmmm, the arrows are back once more.

This is supposed to be an Alternate Universe where the South won the civil war, and it's speculation on what would have happened if the North had won. Why did no one pick up on that?
Fight smart, not fair.If the North had won the Korean War? That would have pretty much been the worst thing ever.

Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.Didn't they. I mean that's why there is a North Korea after all....
If the north lost the U.S. Civil war....
...a little brother should belong to his older sister, right? - Orimura ChifuyuIf North Korea won the war...well, damn, that's one thing I don't want to imagine in detail.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.North did not win the Korean War. If anything, it lost, because of the following reasons:
- It initiated the attack, and failed its goal to capture the South. Therefore, it's a loss.
- Its ideological origin, the Soviet Union, collapsed a few decades later.
- While it was the superior half when the war began, after the famines and the economic decline, it's in poor shape, whereas South jumped to a majorly developed nation in half a century. Also, North had become infamous because of its government and nuclear testings. Now it's without allies.

Now using Trivialis handle. As you're from South Korea, I'd imagine not.
But no one would, really. Shit is frightening as hell.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.Ok I guess were talking about different Korean wars on this....
Or not... I got thinking by the OP that NK was formed by a civil war before the Korean war. It's actually because it was divided into Soviet and American occupied zones in 1945, following the end of World War II. NK refused to participate in a United Nations–supervised election held in the south in 1948, which led to the creation of separate Korean governments for the two occupation zones. Both North and South Korea claimed sovereignty over the Korean Peninsula as a whole, which led to the Korean War of 1950.
So I got that one wrong.
...a little brother should belong to his older sister, right? - Orimura ChifuyuI have no idea what North you are talking about, so I can't really say. All of the Norths I can think of actually won each war, except in Korea, where they had a stalemate.
@droy with the scent of offtopicness:
Does your name have a 'kim'?
...a little brother should belong to his older sister, right? - Orimura ChifuyuWell, lots of planets have a north.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.
I mean, wouldn't that be a freaky world?
Having only one or two countries on this continent instead of the 5 at the end of the Second Great War or the 4.5 we have now?
My buddy even says that the Mormons would be fielding candidates for President right now. I think he's nuts.
