I've seen instances where two AI jousted each other and both fell at the same time. Was quite funny, really.

Just tried out the campaign in With Fire and Sword. Kind of meh, really. Not as good as Warband's. Took me in-game days to get three bags of salt to take back to a village, and while I did get 900 pieces of money out of it, I got killed twice. Eventually I just gave up and quit without saving.

^ Initial money making in there is hard...although saving bough to get silk trade going makes building up an army really easy though...

Give me cute or give me...something?

There's a new mod up on the Taleworlds site: Blue Blood.

It's a historical mod for the year 1184, though the year was just a reference point for making historical lords and nations, there's nothing significant about it. Recruitment works differently this time around: you can hire mercs off the bat, but there's no way to recruit from villages. Instead, you work your way into a faction and gain a fief, then when the warcry goes up, you can summon your village levy for a period of up to three weeks at a time. Lords can also have personal retainers, but they're expensive.

I found the solution to the stupid controversy mechanic; cheating! There's a thing called tweakMB that lets you change certain stats so I changed how controversy works.

Since then I've grabbed Tihr and three castles. Once we go to war with the nords again I'm going to grab Sargoth and a few frontline castles then declare independence. If Swadia leaves me alone I'll be moving on the rest of the nord nation then going after Swadia.

Is using "Julian Assange is a Hillary butt plug" an acceptable signature quote?

Remember to pick up some lords once you rebel. If you own too many fiefs, you start incurring tax penalties. If you're playing on good campaign difficulty, they can be kind of devastating.

sometimes i wonder if its a better idea to wait a castle's food supply out instead of attempting an attack...

then i remember that during sieges the kingdom's lords tend to make a b-line towards you...

It's easier to take 300 in the field than a hundred elites on a wall.

The main issue is that I usually end up running out of food first.

just took a castle somehow with 23 troops. 11 of which were able capable of combat.

might have helped that just before that i captured the lord of the castle and wiped out his troops.

problem is i have next to no troops right now

That's not a problem. Just stick 'em in the castle and start recruiting mercs and locals, keep those in your party to train up, then put 'em in the castle when they're strong enough.

for the record, when i actually took the castle, a group of 99 men were right outside it. the moment i leave they start a siege; i dont have the time.

invest in the training skill, and remember it stacks among all companions. I could take any given recruit from a village and turn them into an elite fight force within a week, where all of them would at least be at the second to last level of the upgrade tree.

do all party skills stack?

because engineer doesnt seem to.

anyway, thankfully i saved over a different file after taking up arwa's cause

she'll have to wait a few levels so i can increase my leadership and training skill.

still, the castle feels like such a wasted accomplishment ;_;

[up][up][up]You think you need time? If there's a village nearby, you run, you get some soldiers, you run back and sit. If there's a town, go for mercs too.

[up]No, only Trainer. And there's nothing wasted about losing that castle. If you can't defend it, pull all troops out, save those you can. Then come back later with more troops. It won't be as well garrisoned as it was the first time. The AI never sticks many troops in a newly taken castle. Just wait them out, retake the place, and keep going.

What do you do online when someone just keeps spamming attacks on you? I can never get a swing in.

Also I have engineer 4 and it'll still take 46 freaking days to build a mill....What skill should I have before it gets realistic?

Only trainer stacks. Things labelled as "party skill" do not except for one caveat: if a companion has a higher level than you, but you also have levels, half your level gets added to their skill.

I didn't know that about the skill points. Sweet! Do you know if it can go over level ten that way?

I'm not actually sure, but I feel like you can. You'll need to check the wiki or some such.

its really hard to not put points into intelligence every time. those 2 skill points seem so tempting..!

also, my swadian knight is amazing <3

him and me, we've taken on hundreds of enemies together at this point and he's never even been so much as knocked out

just took out 50 bandits with just him.

The level cap on attributes is 63. This know because the Barbarian class in Blood and Steel has 63 Strength and Agility. The highest level I've seen any skill pushed is 15. The entertainment skill in Brytenwalda.

[up] It's tempting, but not worth it. Charisma is the way to go. You get one extra soldier slot, and Leadership gives you five more, plus takes off five percent of your wages. No one else can stack it. YOU'RE the one who needs that skill. My build is nine strength, and 30 charisma. Extra points go to smoothing out the other two attributes so they're even threes. Just because I'm OCD like that. tongue The nine strength is to pump 3 iron flesh and get 50 hit points, once more, because I'm OCD like that.

gave arha/arwa the castle this time, there doesnt seem to be any sieges this time. going around recruiting but the fact that all but one of my units are wounded causes all the super fast super large packs of deserters to target me. one group actually extorted money from me while i was resting in the castle

guess i gotta go to khanute to recruit and rest.

i wish that, if you won a battle but had to run from the reinforcements because you know you would lose, the companions wouldnt get pissy at me for it. i know you guys dont like running, you have pride yadayadayada but jesus christ, at least try to think. you only dont care about retreating because you will never die!

and then deshavi comes up and yells at me for bloodbaths on our side (although id say i slaughtered far more on the enemy side) and tells me to stop bringing them into unwinnable battles...which is stupid because if i couldnt win it we would be surrendering and she wouldnt be talking to me. also because im not really doing the dragging.

Glitched much? evil grin I don't like the companions much, but they're a necessary evil for upping your skills. Europe 1200 mod for the original M&B went around that with a University Student who could teach you the medical skills, engineering, and a couple other skills for some cash. Okay, a lot of cash, but you didn't need the attribute points to get those up to ten, so it was worth it.
