No good can come of EA remembering they own Dead Space.
"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984NEW for the Deadspace franchise - relive Isaacs CHILLING moments IN!
Deadspace Endless RUNNER!
Or
Build out the Ishimura in: Dead Space SHELTER!
Wait, wait! Come back! We also have a Go-Karting game now with Isaac!
Or how about Dead Space ROYALE! No necromorphs and you just bunny hop all over brown construction sites with nice skyboxes!
Pretty much, I have a suspicion other companies may of tried to get the license.
An actual interview with the first game's director.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!A better ending for dead space 3 - set just after Clarke and Carver are confronting Danika and Carver throws the codex.
Clarke watched the codex sail though the air, as in slow motion, in than instant he saw what was going to happen, convergence resuming, the moon waking up, the end of the human race. He saw Danik catch the codex and taking aim he blew of Danik's arm.
Danik screamed in confusion and rage, only to be silenced as Isaac shot him again, and again, and again until a click was heard from his weapon, its magazine expended. Then he walked over to the body and stamped it into the ground, screaming in rage as he did, only stopping when it was pulp and bone fragments. That done he picked up the codex and turned to Ellie.
"Ellie, prep the shuttle for take off"
"What?" Said Ellie, shocked at the violence she had just witnessed.
"Carver, you go with her, make sure there are no more Unitologists, you can do that, right?" said Clarke, glaring at him.
"Yeah, I, Isaac, I'm..." Said Carver, feeling the weight of what he'd done.
"Isaac, what are you going to do?" Asked Ellie.
Isaac walked towards the machine, codex in hand.
"I'm going to finish this."
He inserted the codex and turned on the machine, the bright green beam intensified and shot toward the brethan moon pulling it towards the surface.
Jerked out of a trance Carver and Langford ran toward the shuttle with Isaac close behind. They broke orbit just in time to see the moon smash into the planet, killing it and all the necromorphs on the surface.
The was silence in the shuttle broken as Ellie confirmed something.
"The marker signal is gone, we did it" She said, perhaps less elated that she should be at this point.
Clarke still had a grim look.
"Not gone, dormant, there are other moons out there, waiting. I've got Serrano's notes, we need to go after them."
Carver and Langford didn't argue with him, it need to be done, and maybe, if they could pull it off, they would finally know peace.
'Isaac Clarke, John Carver and Ellie Langford will return in Dead space 4: Brethren Moons'
There that wasn't so hard was it? Now why couldn't they have done that?
An alternative ending would be Carver shooting Danik in the head as he tried to catch the codex.

My latest Trope page: Shapeshifting FailureDEAD SPACE LIVES. (Ironically enough.)
Powered by the Frostbite Engine and developed by EA Motive, expect improved gameplay, story, and characters in this remake of the first Dead Space game. (Probably in light of the Resident Evil 2 remake turning out as great as it did.) Coming for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Assuming they complete the trilogy, I hope 3 has a more coherent ending instead of "the universe sucks and you're an idiot for thinking otherwise."
It is a remake, right? That's what you said, but the teaser doesn't make it clear if they're actually changing things like the RE games.
EA just did to Dead Space what a Marker does to corpses, presumably with similar results.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult. If they don't fuck Motive Studios over. Wonder if anyone from the former Visceral works at Motive now.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.I think Dead Space 3 is just an unsalvagable mess, storyline wise.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.I didn't actually get to 3, just read over a synopsis.
If it's a full remake, they might rewrite 3 from the ground up. Resident Evil and the Final Fantasy remake made some major changes. If it's just a remaster they're calling a remake then I doubt we'll even get to 3.
The first game was perfectly coherent, plot-wise, just a few wiggly bits near the end that could be cleaned up. The second I don't remember any major problems. But everything I know about the third says "toss it out and try again."
It has the same problem as Altered Carbon Season 2. The game weirdly thinks we have any investment in the romance and artificial drama versus the scifi setting. Plus the uncompelling villains and bad dual play.
It wasn't helped by the fact both the starship graveyard and Moon are better locations for the game versus Hoth 2.0.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Should we create a new topic for the remake/reimaging? People might not want to come to a Dead Space 3 topic on account of it being a Franchise Killer.
I'd say this would be a straight up remake. The originals were two console generations ago and it'd make more sense to make something from the ground up rather than take the original game and apply new visuals on it. Plus this being a different studio and all.
I hope it's a sequel but wouldn't be surprised if it's not.
Just say Earth is gone and Necromongers are everywhere.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Itβs confirmed to be a remake on the Ishimura.
Oh well.
Its still a franchise I'm glad to have back.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Necromongers? Riddick isnβt in this series.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.I don't like the revisit to the Ishimura much.
Secret SignatureThere's some irony in a dead game franchise that centers around fighting zombies getting a remake.

Disgusted, but not surprisedRiddick vs. the Necromorphs would be awesome.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Yay, now the original can be drowning in microtransactions and cosmetic DLC. Huzzah. Maybe they'll shoehorn in some multiplayer too. Make the second player Nicole for maximum lolz.
"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984I hope they throw in some actual survivors this time. Yes, possibly including Nicole.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Motive actually said they wouldn't be doing microtransactions.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Fallen Order was an EA game and that had no microtransactions, so they're not forcing them on absolutely every release.
Bio Ware's actually said that the huge controversy over loot boxes and stuff made EA take all of that out of Anthem.
Of course, I'll believe it when I see it.
