This is my first Image Pickin discussion, so if I screw anything up, I apologize.

The pic is Batman looking like he's on the verge of tears, but shows nothing about him being stoic in the first place, relying too much on knowing that Batman is The Stoic.

I think his stoic reputation is well known enough, especially here.

I think Batman as The Stoic can be relied on to pass the Popcultural Osmosis test.

I'm leaning towards the 'he's well-known enough for JAFAAC not to count' camp but if someone could get a 2-part picture of it that would probably be better.

I'm voting Keep Until Better Image Suggested.

Batman is on that elusive list of characters we have deemed recognizable through Popcultural Osmosis. We've never written in down (nor should we), but the gist of it is that we all know enough about Batman to allow him to circumvent the JAFAAC rule in most cases. This is why so many Batman pictures exist—not just because we're fanboys and fangirls, but because we can rely on a certain amount of context the reader is already aware of. His pictures are more intuitively grasped then pictures of some others.

He's not the only character that falls under this domain. Superman, Darth Vader, Snow White and some other Disney characters, are some of the others that fall into this list.

It's not just that Batman is well-known; it is that he is well known for being stoic. That is why Jesus or the Great Pyramid of Giza might be okay for something. But not Supermans Favorite Color.

Clock's up, and since the consensus is to keep the pic, I'll tag the page accordingly. Locking up.
