JAFAAC is a no no....
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!"it seems like a screencap of Avatar would be more appropriate"
No, because this is about the reaction, not the place or work itself.
A comic where someone states this feeling might be best.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Well yeah...the "I want to believe" text is perfectly fine and could be kept. I just don't understand how the falling phonebooth/closet thing relates to the trope.
Just for anyone who doesn't know, it's the TARDIS, a bigger-on-the-inside time-and-space machine from the long-running BBC series Doctor Who.
"phonebooth/closet thing"... kids today, grumble mutter

If anyone doesn't mouse over the pic and get the pothole, it's their own fault for not getting the reference.
As much as I like the current pic, we should probably look for some other options.
What is Doctor Who?
Please.*bites back truly sarcastic comment*
It's one of the most iconic British TV shows ever. Beyond that, you'll have to investigate...perhaps I should've said something about actually clicking on the link.

I think it's another name for John Adams Franklyn Af Almedalens Cullar.
This implies, quite correctly, that my mind is dark and damp and full of tiny translucent fish.Dr Who is what happens when a certain band goes to medical school.
Fight smart, not fair.Lololololo
Ok but yeah I don't watch Dr. Who so I don't get the joke/reference in the current pic
I watch the show, and still don't get the line. It seems to me more about wanting the weird stuff in the universe to be true, not wanting to be in that world.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.I think it could be interpreted either way.
That's still a problem of course, since we want a line that's clear. Plus it's not dialog, but just text slapped on a picture.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.I didn't know what Doctor Who was and the picture literally made no sense to me. Even with the text, I think a flying phone cabin doesn't represent the trope well. Plus it's confusing as hell if you don't know the show.
But there will always be someone who doesn't get it. I thought Dr. Who was a good choice because it's so iconic, even if you've only heard of it. Personally I can't think of a better photo, as this seems recognizable in purpose to me and others, but if you do want something else, be my guest.
The problem wasn't what show, but it not showing anyone longing to live in it.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. The thing is that the current image does not display the trope in any way. The trope is about someone who desires to enter a fictional setting. If someone manages to explain how on earth the current image illustrates that, I'm all for keeping it. I doubt it's going to happen though. Even with the text at the bottom, it doesn't illustrate the "fictional setting" part of the trope.

Reaction Image RepositoryWhat image would be be suited for this trope? Jake juxtaposed next to his avatar, with a caption reading: 'You wish this loser was you?' I am trying to not sound sarcastic or anything, but it's hard not to come across as it. I am asking serious. The current image is the TARDIS flying with I want to believe. Do you want to believe police boxes can fly? To me it's: I want to live in the world where flying police boxes means the Doctor is here. if you don't understand the image, what's it come across as? a fantastical image of a random flying box, that maybe someone shot out of a catapult?
All I see is a random phonebooth in the air. The image is completely nonindicative, no matter what it does to time and relative dimension in space.
Motion to pull
Yeah, unwritten rule number one: follow all the unwritten procedures. - CamacanSeconding motion.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Thirding.
Alt account of Angeldog 2437.Not arguing the main point, but it's a British police callbox, not a phonebooth.
I get the text...but I don't understand the picture. Seeing as how the trope used to be named Longing For Pandora, it seems like a screencap of Avatar would be more appropriate.
