According to fox news. Watching a transgender on dancing with the stars will corrupt your children with horrible thoughts of transgenderism. Its just as bad as anorexia!

Is that new or was that from the article I linked? Because a "doctor" was the one making that claim, I believe.

[down]Thought so.

I didn't know he was from the article but yes, he's the first jack off in your article.

So, the reason I linked to that article is that its an example of how Fox news seems to work. They make a claim, that transgenderism is dangerous, that LGBTQ people are "different," that the president is unqualified, that environmentalism is bunk, and so many other things. And then they bring in selected "experts" who only support the side seen to be what Fox wants, in order to legitimize this sort of bigotry or doubt, instead of bringing in all the facts. Instead, its filtered out, down to the minority, then expounded as if its the majority.

The first in my list, it hurts several of my friends. The second hurts me and my friends and my family. The third, that can be done without making everything his fault. The fourth hurts everyone.

For every legitimate story told on their main station, there's hours of opinionizing presented as news, hours of anti-obama/anti-LGBTQ/anti-progressivism/anti-lower class nuttery, hours of expounding upon the lives of the rich and wealthy, as if to say "look, you can someday reach this!" while at the same time saying that Wealth inequality is no big deal.

Every news station does that though. The reason we all notice Fox more is because they're opinions are less agreeable than those on say, CNN. I'm not saying that what they do is right, just that they're as wrong as everyone else.

Fox News routinely tested as being misinformed. However, they didn't routinely get tested as being under informed. So it's kind of hard to judge.

Every news station does that though

"They all do it, so what's the fuss?"

True, it's depressing to look at the history of journalism in Europe and the U.S. There's always a few big publishers who meddle in politics and borderline criminality.

It's an old chestnut, but I stick with it: I'd rather have a sensationalist, stupid press than a giant network run by a holdover from Nixon who is a fucking lunatic.

(Though to be fair, Ales has a vision not unlike Henry Luce, the godfather of TIME, who was also obsessed with Christianizing the globe, so maybe it'll come to nothing.)

"The top sources of TV news are the Fox News Channel, cited by 19% of the public, CNN (15%), and local news programming (16%)."

So, Fox news is also the most cited source of those people polled.

Of course. People trust their own news source-that's why they watch it-and Fox News has the most business.

I'm making fun of Bill's automatic dismissal.

I mean, we're criticizing Fox News, but we're doing it on a case by case basis. That being said, I should probably actually read the article-maybe they're being unfair to Fox News. (Not bloody likely!)

I am skeptical of Bill Clinton's assertion that payroll tax cuts have the greatest returns. That sounds fishy to me. I mean, compared to OTHER tax cuts, certainly, but in terms of stimulus? Meeeeh.

This reminds me: apparently, Bill O`Reiley said that if tax rates go up, he may find that it's no longer worth his time to do the show. The Daily Show responded with a segment called "No. Bill. Wait. Stop. Don't. No."

I'm conflicted. On one hand, I'd like there to be more Subways as the two nearest establishments can only be reached by crossing streets plagued with heavy traffic and dysfunctional crosswalks. On the other, I hope Billy has had a nice run putting his foot in his mouth.
